We just wrapped up one of our 4-day Storm Chasing Workshops in Southern Arizona. Even though the monsoon hasn't been really active this year, we were able to find amazing storms each night and capture lots of lightning, dramatic sunsets, rainbows, and crazy clouds. On this particular night, our storm chase brought us all the way down to a remote corner of the Mexican border. At sunset, the sky exploded and about half the group photographed the highway while the other half focused on capturing the lightning storm to our right. As darkness fell, the bolts just kept dropping one after another and we couldn't believe how many great shots we got! What a fun group we had the privilege to work with!
A beauitful village by the side of Tompson River, British Columbia, Canada
Located at the southern end of Little Shuswap Lake in the mountainous eastern region of the South Thompson River Valley, is the little town of Chase, known as The Gateway to the Shuswap, a region known for it's spectacular scenery, beautiful lakes, recreational splendor, and fabulous four seasons.
Mount Scatchard and Mount Boysee dominate the southern horizon, while the northern side of the South Thompson River Valley is defined by the Shuswap Highlands that rise to 1,830 meters.
Chase was named in honour of a New York carpenter Whitfield Chase, one of the more unlucky prospectors. After originally coming to Canada during the 1858 gold rush, he settled in the area in 1865 to try his hand at ranching, becoming the first non-native settler that farmed and raised a family in what was then called The Shuswap Prairie.
Before the town of Chase existed (pre 1908) the main town centre was called Shuswap, and was located approximately five kilometers west of the current site. During the days of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Chase functioned as a turnaround terminal for steam engines used to power eastbound trains over the hill on the east side of town.
On the western edge of the famed Shuswap in the heart of the BC interior, Chase offers a beach, campsites, a floating dock, and boat launch facilities. Boating, kayaking, fishing, golfing, hiking, and mountain biking are popular pursuits in the warm and sunny climate of Chase.
Population: 2,600
Location: Chase is located on the Trans-Canada Highway 1 in the Shuswap region of BC, at the confluence of Little Shuswap Lake and the South Thompson River, approximately 36 miles (58 km) northeast of Kamloops and 28 miles (45 km) northwest of Salmon Arm.

Some of you may know me and many of you won't
I am just a player in the band
Some of you will listen and some of you will hear
Some of you may laugh at me and some of you will cheer
Cause all of us, we are an audience
Looking for evidence, to help it all make sense
Have we left the answers far behind
Are we running from the light
And our legs are growing weaker
Chasing shadows in the night
Tell me have you noticed, the tide is rolling in
The waves are crashing harder now
The shore is wearing thin
The message in the bottle, has been lost at sea
But the word lives on forever, it's meant to be...
This shield bug seems to be looking at the distant thistle bloom and there are some interesting details on its back. HBBBT everyone!
Shield Bug - Coal Creek Trail
I caught this moment with the seagulls all chasing a piece of bread thrown into the middle of them. I love how all the birds are looking at it and getting ready to pounce.
Starring Gerard Butler, Chasing Mavericks is very interesting. I arrive at this shore from the home by a train in 50 minutes. As for the next, Mavericks may meet me. Have a nice weekend!

Preceeding "chasing light" here. Or the full series on London Light on my website..
After the warm sunset I was planning to return home. So I put down my camera. The twilight was forming such an incredible scene where every little moment was seemed to be lined up in a row. City lights were on. Moments were flowing. How can i stop myself from chasing this moment when nature gives us every instant incredible wonders!!
I was out yesterday chasing rainbows (forecast storms never made it north alas!) and passed the site of my last post.
I expected it to be dry, but the recent rains seem to have kept this small pond topped up. Impressive clouds and little rain

Shakin' time, she needs
Taking rides...to somewhere
Let's lose our minds, no hurry
I'm the wakeful night, with dreams...or something
Chasing blue sky,
We're chasing blue sky
Taking time from all this worry
Mesmerized by the waves of your smile
I wish that i could say something
But you're the rose colored glass i see through
I'll see you through
Chasing blue sky, we're chasing blue sky.
