We are so used to hatred and jealousy that we get suspicious when people show genuine love, concern and care.
When a man shows his concern and care towards woman: “Is he hitting on me? He is so desperate, cheap, pervert and classless”.
When a woman shows her concern and care towards man: “Hey brother, she is showing interest in me, what I should do? Where I should take care? Please give me keys of your bike/car”.
When a man shows his concern and care towards another man: “Why is he buttering me? What does he need from me? Maybe he wants some money, bloody a**-licker”.
When a woman shows her concern and care towards another woman: “Oh bloody b***h, she is such a show-off lady, and characterless. I know from where she is getting all those luxurious. She cannot take care of her own relationships and behaving like Mother Teresa”. [Source: Diary of Sanjeev]
check the contrast in architecture. The beautiful old one, and the characterless bathroom tile new one.
A cat is eaten. Blows strike one's own face. The bathwater suppresses screams. Anger is vented on sports equipment. A fish chars in front of the seascape. The characterless characters sit and stand around repeatedly, busy with active idleness.

A Victorian-era Rowhouse with a mid-20th century storefront first floor front extension sits on a street corner near Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Houses like these show the evolution of the neighborhood from a largely upscale residential area to a more heavily commercialized district. Today, the building is a bit forlorn, but hopefully has had new life breathed into it since this picture was taken, though, judging by VCU's development behavior, it is entirely possible this may get demolished for some characterless modern "improvement" of a development.

The tourist strip in Pokhara, Nepal. Pretty much a super-chilled version of Thamel and equally characterless: trekking and souvenir shops and tourist restaurants, but wide empty roads and no constant calls of "rickshaw madam rickshaw?"/"hash hashish hash?"/"taxi madam taxi?". Without the chaos of Kathmandu, and with added heat and humidity, pace of life in Pokhara is much slower. Take a left here and you're right on the eastern shore of Phewa Tal - a large, tranquil expanse of calm, cool lake. It's difficult to even consider having to return to Kathmandu after this.

POTATO AND LEEK SOUP: D - … Bordering on inedible
If the thought of drinking dishwater appeals, then this thin, grey, characterless soup is for you. One or two small pieces of soft potato and soft leek floated forlornly in it. I tried adding some hot sauce and it made it barely edible. In a country of great soups, this is inexcusable.

In Tripura, it is not just the Army that is using rape as a weapon against tribal women. On March 7, CPI (M) workers raped another tribal girl in Tripura and assaulted her parents. The use of rape and sexual abuse or molestation against political opponents or to settle factional scores, is nothing new for the CPI(M). We recall .

the horrific rape of women of a rival CPI(M) faction by official CPI(M) cadres at Dhantala in West Bengal in which CPI(M) leadership branded the victims as characterless. The State Womens Commission headed by a CPI(M) cadre, too, took a full 17 days to bother to visit Dhantala. CM Buddhadeb took a week to break his silence and issue a statement. Due to the public outcry, the CPI(M) eventually expelled the prime accused, but when he came out on bail, he was garlanded by CPI(M) cadres. .

In Jadavpur University last year, police assaulted hunger-striking students, and molested a woman student Chandrasmita in police custody. Students of this campus have seen video footage of Chandrasmita being moeslted by male police in full public view; despite this evidence, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya in the Bengal Assembly has shamelessly denied the police excesses and instead cast aspersions on Chandrasmita herself. .

In another rape case involving CPI(M) cadres in Ghoksadanga in Cooch Behar, a senior CPI(M) leader like Anil Biswas has been known to say that the character of the victim was suspect; when journalists objected, he joked that mediapeople should check on what their wives did in their absence (Times News Network, Kolkata, March 13, 2003). .

A few lobster pots give a hint to the former activity here. The harbourside in Hayle has been mostly cleared of port activity and awaits regeneration and gentrification. I suspect eventually some rather characterless blocks of flats will be provided. For now though the site is derelict
The most difficult thing is to tell the truths as they really are; truths made up of loneliness, fear, and darkness. The characterless that was external once, has now become something internal, and the city creates the distressful sense of being repulsed by others. Images are reflections of pains, anxieties, fears, and frustrations. There are no hopes and dreams; no future and no past. Sometimes I feel like giving up everything to cut all the ties with the world of others. -Alireza Zangiabadi
Somewhere in my photostream is already a picture of this house, but this is a slightly better angle. I like the curved glazed balcony, even if I don't like the practical but characterless double glazing.
but to others, the carrot is a valuable and wonderful source of nutrition. True, it might have to be "dressed up" but it deserves better than to be thrown around, such as seen here.
Ah, the poor, characterless carrot...
I lost my mother when I was 15. My father is not educated but my mother was. She wanted me to be a successful educated woman like her but my relatives didn’t want that. Soon after my mother’s death, I faced a lot of issues financially and personally but I didn’t give up. I know my mother wouldn’t want me to. After my intermediate, I got job in company and continued my studies at the same time. I had to bear my education expenses because my father thought I didn’t need to study. It meant I had a 9 to 5 job and classes from 6 to 9 while taking care of my younger brother as I didn’t want him growing up without motherly care. I faced a lot of criticism. I was called characterless and many other names but I was determined to fulfill my mother’s dream. I am now about to complete my Masters, doing a job in IBA and financially support my father too. Those girls who think they are not strong enough to stand up for their rights, I want to tell them you can do anything you set your mind on. When I lost my mother I felt like my world had ended but today I strongly believe that it’s my mother blessings that keep me going and am confident that I have made her proud

Ah now, here's an uncommon sight - a Renault Twizy.
I'm not into EVs one bit, characterless to drive I would think, expensive, lose money like a safe going down a lift shaft blah blah. But I might be tempted by one of these for having a bit of a laugh while gadding about locally. This one has the optional side windows I see...
This page displays a piece in response to uniform(ity). I used my old secondary school blazer to work with, and then stitched fabric in the shape of t-shirts into it. The t-shirts feature screen-printed, bold text displaying school rules and a positive quote, of which are to be read flippantly. For me, the written word is a powerful tool so I wear t-shirts often with bold text printed on. I have therefore implemented a part of me into the characterless blazer as an attempt to conflict the whole ethos that ‘everyone is the same’.
These beautiful buildings have now all been demolished and the place is now a characterless park. Only the Kelvin Dock pub survives.

This sculpture of a magpie picking at a chip, located in Garema Place, Canberra, is hugely popular, not least with the many magpies that call Garema place their home!

UPDATE 2025: much of this plaza has been demolished and all public art removed. While some buildings were past their prime and needed a polish, this plaza is regrettably being redevloped into a nice, sanitised, characterless space. Once a hub of public activity and historically an area for public gatherings, protests, demos, buskers, drinking coffee and late night shopping, the slate is being cleaned.
Less than half really. If one of those characterless estates is built here, that will be adding insult to injury! :-(

Characterless alterations have set in so deep with these wood frame houses on State Avenue in Cincinnati's Lower Price Hill neighborhood that I doubt that they would be worth saving, especially considering the other blighted properties nearby that have much more of their original character intact and are in more dire circumstances despite utilizing more heavy-duty brick masonry construction. These buildings date to the 19th Century, but, despite their age, they have very little of their historic character intact, and are thus of much less value than other buildings of a similar age. Wood-frame houses such as these have fared poorly in the city when it comes to historic preservation, as they are flimsier and easier to damage than a brick structure due to their very nature.
The tobacco warehouse at Stanley Dock in Liverpool. I once heard that this is the largest brick built structure in the known universe. Unfortunately, I don't know of a public vantage point that would get it all in one shot, so settled for a look at the narrow end. They hopefully have plans to renovate it rather than build yet another characterless modern thing in the city. It will need some impressive light wells if there is to be any daylight in the central parts.
Didn't realise the barbed wire in my previous upload would cause so much debate :)
I must admit, I was undecided about which pic to upload, especially knowing how you feel about barbed wire, Bill! However, I do like to include something in the foreground of my landscape shots where possible and there was nothing else available!
Here is the other shot for comparison. I don't mind this, but somehow it seems a bit characterless, as though a million other people could have taken exactly the same shot.

Used to be Ashford's "posh" hotel until it was taken over by Weatherspoon's and turned into a mega pub. It's not bad but rather characterless.
The buildings in Hong Kong have no character. But the island does: dense characterless vertical buildings with narrow roads along gradual slopes.
Stowupland, Suffolk
Stowupland is a long, fairly characterless village on the outskirts of the town of Stowmarket.
People in Norfolk joke about odd people from Suffolk being NFS, meaning 'Normal for Suffolk'. The same abbreviation is used by people in Suffolk to mean 'Normal for Stowmarket', except in Stowmarket itself, where, of course, it means 'Normal for Stowupland'.

The thing I like least about the changes to campus is how the facade of Hamman Hall is ruined. It isn't a great facade, but it is designed to be seen from a distance and in combination with the Bio/Geo/SpaceSci buildings. Jamming this characterless whatever-it-is up against it is just wrong.

More hot bleak in Death Valley. A surreal place, but the mountain ranges around here started to feel arbitrary and characterless, unlike the more amicable ones in the UK with names for every thing. America is just too big for that everywhere though.

This is the parish church and is set back from the High Street near the Guildhall. The building dates from 1822 and replaced an ancient church with Saxon and Norman work which was falling down. Many of the old memorials were rescued and placed in the new building. From the outside it is a rather characterless building with a plain tower at the west end and low battlemented side aisles.
Look at that clear blue sky...
Elderly concrete Revo lamppost prepares to bow out, after many year of solid service. There are a few of these dotted around Horley, but most are being supplanted by more efficient but rather characterless steel poles, as here.
The cover was off and I could see the gubbins inside, including timer clock and ballast, which was 'Made in England in agreement with Phillips Electrical Ltd'. The code number T15328 was writ large.
The lamp unit itself maybe a Revo, AC Ford or a Wardle 'Gordon', not really sure as all look similar.
Fine house built 1725, the cellars are on ground floor with main entrance on first floor. Converted to hotel but a bit 'run down' in recent years. Taken over by Thwaites Brewery who spent a lot of money but result is perhaps a bit characterless.
Demolished March 2008 - to be replaced by flats and an indoor market which will no doubt be horrible. (September 2009 - still an empty site, and the temporarily relocated market is a characterless collection of folding stalls and about half the size it was previously. No doubt the developers are hoping it'll fade away completely so they can put shops under their new flats with some kind of token market to satisfy the restrictive covenant on the site).
