Closed and disused Church left open for visitors to enter.... so quiet and peaceful, the old Bible left open so it appears to be on the last sermon read.

Mylor Church. As a child I had to attend this church for weddings, funerals and a few christenings. The only reason for today's visit was to find burial plots of relatives for ancestry purposes.

Another backdrop for the Hidden Chapter (an event inside an event) @ The Chapter Four.
Because everyone needs a creepy basement huh? ^_^
Go grab it at The Chapter Four (jump in to the big dark hole to get to the hidden chapter) :)
A dreary, and rainy Monday evening.
I step in at my favorite sushi takeaway.
The bell on the door annonunces my arrival.
I look around. The place turnes awkwardly silent for a moment.
I look at the guys at the table closest to the door.
They stop eating. Stare at me.
At that moment, I recognize both.
Known to me, but not friends. At all.
Chapter one.
York Minster, formally the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, is an Anglican cathedral in the city of York, North Yorkshire, England. The minster is the seat of the archbishop of York, the second-highest office of the Church of England, and is the mother church for the diocese of York and the province of York. It is administered by its dean and chapter. The minster is a Grade I listed building and a scheduled monument.
The first record of a church on the site dates to 627; the title "minster" also dates to the Anglo-Saxon period, originally denoting a missionary teaching church and now an honorific. The minster undercroft contains re-used fabric of c. 1160, but the bulk of the building was constructed between 1220 and 1472. It consists of Early English Gothic north and south transepts, a Decorated Gothic nave and chapter house, and a Perpendicular Gothic eastern arm and central tower.
The minster retains most of its medieval stained glass, a significant survival among European churches. The east window, which depicts the Last Judgment, is the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the world. The north transept contains the Five Sisters window, which consists of five lancets, each over 53 feet (16.3 m) high, filled with grisaille glass.

This is the stunning ceiling of Chapter House in York Minster. I ended up laying on the floor to get as much of the ceiling in as possible. This vaulted ceiling is supported by timbers in the roof instead of a central column.
Built between 1260 and 1280 it was pretty amazing at the time.
The theme of week 1, 2022 is Chapter 1. So I knew right away I wanted to take a photo of my campervan (motorhome) on the first trip of the year. This is chapter one and I hope many more chapters (holidays) will follow!
Photo is taken in Italy, in the Dolomite Mountains (Dolomites). On the Giau Pass, which is open, also during winter! Winter tires, no fear and good driving skills are needed 😊

The Brief:
"It has been a long year and your stories are ready for their final conclusion. How does your own story end and will it be a happy or sad ending. Maybe it is not that type of story. Remember the idea behind this category is for you to tell a complete story, in four chapters using a single picture at a time.
Please include chapters one, two and three in your comments so that everyone else in the group can see the full story."

The shape of the book is still well defined. However 150 years of rain, wind and snow have scrubbed away virtually all traces of the inscription. A growing number of stones in these old cemeteries serve only as grave markers as there's no longer any visual reference as to the names of the deceased. Any direct descendants are dead. No one visits these graves or maintains them. And the stones are left to simply wither away. That's where I come in.
Chapter 3: His partner having tired of the chase, the darker maned lion caught up and headed off the giraffe, which prepared to defend itself. Without making the story too long, either bravely or foolishly, the single lion attempted to take on his much larger foe with predictable results. He was kicked hard by the giraffe and could easily have been killed if the giraffe had more of a predator's instincts. The lion then moved off several yards, cutting the giraffe's escape route. Surprisingly, began to take the initiative. It would raise one long leg threateningly and take one step after another toward the lion. This went on for over half an hour as Vincent and I sat watching, rain coming and going, the outcome very much undetermined.

#1/52, Chapter 1, 52 Weeks, 2022 edition
Another wide angle phone picture, one of a few images I took on a recent visit to this incredible building. The chapter house, originally a reading room now houses page from the Magna Carta so I guess the room still serves that same purpose.

In a forgotten corner of the realm, where the moon hung low and the shadows danced like specters, there lay a twisted forest cloaked in whispers and echoes of long-lost souls. Beneath the gnarled branches of ancient trees, a crumbling castle loomed, its stone walls draped in vines that shimmered with an eerie luminescence.
As the wind howled through the darkened thicket, a brave young person named Honey stepped into the clearing, their heart racing with both dread and desire. "I knew from the start it had to be the place for me," they murmured, drawn by the haunting melody that wove through the night, promising secrets and salvation—or perhaps something far more sinister.
In that moment, they could almost see it: the legendary sword glimmering in the shadows, waiting for a soul bold enough to wield **Nightblade**.
