Messing about with RGB channels in CS5

This is a macro shot of the infeed channel on a machine we built. The channel, or track, comes from a bowl feeder and helps make a part for a GM V6 engine. The channel is about 1/2" wide. That red stuff is a problem, as it's a fine metal powder that has already oxidized, or rusted. We are trying to determine where the powder came from.
