Standing at about 100m above and 2km into the Bristol channel, the Brean Down offers fantastic views of the water below.
This channel allows water from the ocean to fill a large fishpond. Ancient Hawaiian royalty used to use these fishponds to raise fish for food. They would cover the opening with a grate, and small fish would swim in from the ocean, feed on algae and small shrimp, and become too large to get back through the grate.
