In this portrait, I used 2 layers (with the background underneath). On the first layer I turned off the red channel, and on the second layer I turned off the red & green. Then I enlarged the first layer and shrunk the second layer, and I added a blending mode to make it match a little better.
Another seafront building no longer in use the White Rock Baths have been derelict for a number of years. Fortunately at street level they have recently been painted to give the illusion of the old place being cared for.
The channels in this VIS image were most likely created by lava flows from Alba Mons. The scene here measures 19 x 69 kilometers (12 x 43 miles).

Observed today, perched in the top of a very large adult Eucalyptus, near Mt Sugarloaf. Theses birds certainly have a presence even when resting.

While in Alaska working for Porter’s Wild Alaska last summer Theresa and I took advantage of one of our days off to grab a couple of kayaks and cross Tuxedni Channel to where we could see parts of a waterfall in a large gully. The paddle across the channel was uneventful and we weren’t sure what to expect as we followed the stream back into the bush.
We were hopeful that we’d find a spectacular waterfall based on the roar of water we could hear and we weren’t disappointed. A few hundred yards of bushwhacking and we came upon this view. Simply breathtaking.

This is a juvenile channel billed cuckoo.. being fed by a (much smaller) pied currawong near camp cove at Sydney's south head. The mother of this brood parasite lays her eggs in the nest of another species, the unsuspecting host parents raise the cuckoo young as their own
