The channel flows northwest then north where it meets the Columbia River near St.

Grenville Channel is a long narrow channel between high mountains between Pitt Island and mainland British Columbia. It is part of the inside passage to Alaska. It is probably named after Sir Richard Grenville, an ancestor of Captain George Vancouver who charted a lot of this area. In this image the BC Ferries ship Northern Expedition can be seen moving through the channel on its way north in early morning light, diminished by the size of the mountains.

The Lemaire Channel lies between the Antarctic Peninsula and the offshore, eight-kilometer-long Booth Island.
The channel is approximately 6 km long and 72 m wide at its narrowest point. The surrounding mountains rise to a height of 1,000 m.
