Nights are colder now. Weather is changing fast. It´s lovely to watch the moves of nature.

If it was planned or not...it works for now and hopefully forever and ever.

If only human beings could be as perfect...

Popped into the Jackson Junge Gallery in Chicago recently, only to encounter a change of venue wedding. The young couple had been scheduled to have an outdoor wedding, but the weather had something to say about that. I did not notice the photo bombing until after I left. I think it actually adds to the photo. Take care everybody, B

Happy Holidays everyone!

VIA train #72 with new F40's 6417 & 6407 is just east of Komoka, Ontario on a train that was usually powered by MLW FPA4's days earlier February 7 1987, change is constant.

Landscapes, especially forests aren't static. The lighting changes within minutes, weather can change in hours and what can seem static decay and move over time. With my project now running over five years you may even see changes in my photo-stream.

I follow the Moskva

Down to Gorky Park

Listening to the wind of change

An August summer night

Soldiers passing by

Listening to the wind of change

The world is closing in

Did you ever think

That we could be so close, like brothers

The future's in the air

I can feel it everywhere

Blowing with the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment

On a glory night

Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)

In the wind of change

Walking down the street

Distant memories

Are buried in the past forever

I follow the Moskva

Down to Gorky Park

Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment

On a glory night

Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams (share their dreams)

With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment

On a glory night (the glory night)

Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)

In the wind of change (the wind of change)

The wind of change

Blows straight into the face of time

Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell

For peace of mind

Let your balalaika sing

What my guitar wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment

On a glory night

Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams (share their dreams)

With you and me (with you and me)

Take me to the magic of the moment

On a glory night

Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)

In the wind of change (in the wind of change)

Got out and did a little bird photography today. It was sunny and gorgeous, 53F +/-

Hopefully you'll like this more than my little bear cub photo from this morning. :-).

Time and things change so fast. I had some Poppies blooming in my garden and when I came home around noon today a snapped 8 photos. Wanted to see them right away so I downloaded to my computer and when I viewed them I wasn't happy so I took my camera and went outside to take another few shots. In the 15 minutes it took for me to go from the first 8 photos to a reshoot light, colour and the bloom had changed. Posting this shot to remind me that time changes everything in just a matter of minutes, maybe even faster.

Standing on top of a cliff and shooting the Green Bridge in Wales, reminded me that this is the decade where so many of us finally awoke to realise that climate change is here.

I hope that part of the outcome of the US presidential election will bring a window of opportunity to change matters for the better.

Rejoining the Paris climate accord would be an encouraging first step in the right direction.

I watch the ripples change their size

But never leave the stream

Of warm impermanence

And so the days float through my eyes

But still the days seem the same

And these children that you spit on

As they try to change their worlds

Are immune to your consultations

They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Turn and face the strange

Ch-ch-changes

Don't tell them to grow up and out of it

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Turn and face the strange

Ch-ch-changes

Where's your shame?

You've left us up to our necks in it

Time may change me

But you can't trace time

Went into Kirribilli this morning to shoot the city. Lots of cloud was promised and the gap on the horizon looked even more promising when we arrived an hour before sunrise.

Sure enough, right on que, the sky popped and everything fell into place.

Been a while since I set up for a panoramic image, but this location just screams pano, so that’s what I did.

This is 5 portrait images, stitched to give the attached final image.

Managed to get a part rainbow under the bridge too...

Cheers to Paul and Stephane for a great morning out…

Hope you like “Changes”

Cheers, Mike

Along the shore line in Kaikōura, the shelf changes into more boulder like terrain.

With all the recent flurry of photos of the final trains to run on this unaltered single track stretch if street running I figured I'd edit up a few more from last summer's pilgrimage since I couldn't make it for the last runs.

Here is another look at South Shore train 508 (the railroad was running their weekend schedule on the observed Monday holiday) that left South Bend at 5:45 PM 45 minutes prior to when I took this shot at 5:30 PM. Yes, you can travel through time on the South Shore Line! Are there any other commuter lines in the country where you cross a time zone boundary?

Anyway, the standard train of Nippon Sharyo Electric MUs is led by #106, one of the single ended cab units from the 2001 order of 10 similar cars, the newest of the single level fleet most of which date from 1982-1983 though 14 more are a decade newer than that.

They have just snaked through the famous s-curve on 11th Street between Lafayette St. and Cedar St. at about MP 33.8 and are climbing the hill toward me at the corner of Spring Street. Dominating the background is abandoned Spanish Revival style circa 1925 First Christian Church building. I framed this scene up intentionally like this to highlight the historic church which has since been demolished to allow for the straightening of this curve in conjunction with the double track project that is underway forever altering this classic scene.

Changing Seats, Fluffy

"Let’s change seats, Fluffy," she says with the seriousness of someone leading her best friend on an adventure. The plane hums beneath her feet, but she walks with quiet determination, dressed in her two-tone pajamas, carrying that giant bear who seems to listen in silence. In that moment, there are no passengers, no noise… just a girl and her faithful companion conquering the skies together." (Sira)

Thank you very much Haru!

Heading home from visiting dad, changing trains in Glasgow's busy Queen Street Station, a pair of the old Intercity 125 trains awaiting their next passengers of the evening. Quick snap with the phone, while changing platforms to catch another train.

My last visit to Kenai Peninsula last weekend shows the change of colors, and wind, to mark that the summer had end and fall is coming. I'm going to missed this place..

This open area is usually covered with a foot or so of water, but is now dry as a bone and covered with weeds. Is this the new normal? What will the next big change be? I've noticed that I've seen hardly any insects or spiders on my nature walks lately, not even mosquitoes. This is all so not OK.

The last several days have been ones of significant change in the countryside around our town. Just last week, this bean field was a dark green; this morning, it shows the change of the season as it has yellowed and will soon begin the drying process that will result in harvest next month.

Many trees are already showing reds, yellows, and golds as they begin the ever-hastening lurch toward full fall colors.

The habits of wildlife are in full change mode as well. Deer are largely absent as they can read in the Star Tribune that bow season starts this Saturday, followed by other opportunities for them to be shot by two-legged pursuers.

Waterfowl are doing practice runs for migration as they fly high overhead from one body of water to another. Small songbirds are gorging themselves on seeds and berries as they load up for the trip south.

I even noted an old photographer headed to Shalom, our great thrift store, to update his autumn wardrobe, where he will splurge and buy the latest warm fashions for $3 each, which will look an awful lot like his last year's fashion.

If you like the change of seasons in Minnesota, this is a good time. If you find yourself dreading the coming winter, I already like you.
