The only thing constant in life is change. How many times have you heard that quoted? But how many of us know that this include our sense of self? Often times, we identify with our views, our ideas, our root in the pass and who we think we are that often becomes what makes us ~ our sense of self. But change still managed to take us by surprise often unsettling us for quite a while especially when it involve who we are, a lot of times this unwillingness to accept that our sense of self is always evolving and changing Many people celebrate stability and things being always be the same.
What amazes me, looking back on my life, is that change almost always seems to reveal itself as becoming something even better than before. That is when i go with it, not against it, when i appreciate that its trying to lead me forward ~ to feel much more free and grow closer to a better self. It's good to be changing (never to be fix) and be more open to change ~ to evolve and grow. It is important to recognize, accept and celebrate change, i allow myself a chance to change my views, believes and not to be so perfect, this way i can listen to something that makes me grow further and closer to something which is good.
Melocotón is pondering on my motto: "You can always bend the views and believe to fit the new facts in life". Accepting change in it's awkward uncertainty and appreciating it as is while it gently unfold into whats next.
More soon,
Have a great Sunday, friends. It's a relaxing one here.

Yes, I am disappointed to see all black, more black and different tones of black in the new flickr. This white flowers in the white background give me some relief.
Commenting on my contacts pictures takes more time. Is there any one else faces the same problem?

This is a pretty cool Eagle image showing the wings and tail feathers shift as this bird is changing flight paths. I love how the bird contrasts against the trees on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River.
In the days after the NS takeover, things along Conrail started changing. Motive power was patched and the physical plant started to be "improved". One such example is this TV train rolling west on the Middle Division near Newport in 2000.

Hoping the sunrise would light up the underside of this shelf as it drifted in but it didnt happen so I had to work on it a bit. Bringing cold air with it I thought it might look better if I made it look that way, chilly, ominous and carrying change.

I know summer is long gone but its just begun to really feel that way. The wind is cold, first frost approaches, my morning glory vines have died out including my other potted wildflower garden. This weekend i took down the wasted vines, flowers...consolidated the left of soil and stacked empty pots. My patio is now bare save for my basil, chamomile and chile plants which i will be bringing inside very soon in hopes of keeping them alive for winter. while i am sad to watch the "abundance" of summer come to a close i am elated at the changes in the air, the glow of fall in the trees...the inevitable "rest" of winter.
....but its photos like this, taken in summer's hight that will help get through the coming months of getting up in the dark chill( but i really do love winter!!)...and spring is such a miracle- to watch the green roll back in with such force! i cant wait to have my morning glory vines growing and flowering again. this time i will start the seeds indoors as soon as spring hits. should be good.

I walked by this door, on my way to Soho Art parade, it was cool so I took it's picture. On the way back, (3 hours later) I walked bye and the google eyes were there... haha
This week has brought alot of change to my personal life and I am also doing change in my dolly family - after 2-1/2 years in this hobby and still loving it - I will be parting with some girls and bringing in some new ones. I also am trying to do some casual clothes on my girls, as I normally love dresses for my girls. How do YOU like to dress your girls? Harper looks great in our very 1st Skull Maiden Hat!!!

The floor treatment definitely changes in that back room, but my 2013 photo is too blurry to tell for sure what it is exactly! This viewpoint is either the table just beyond, or right beside the breakfast bar. The Shoney's seafood bar they have is also quite nice from what I remember. We ate at the Southaven Shoney's location quite often for dinner, and a few times at the old Corinth Mississippi location as well. Just like the Shoney's in Southaven, that Corinth location is sadly long gone as well, now the location of an appropriately-named "Big Boy's" Pawn Shop (flic.kr/p/pSvxa8) Gotta love it when someone thinks to pay homage to the past!

I am breathing it.........................
Continuing our preventive actions in the community, Hummingbird will reforce its presence next week when the favela (shanty) community of Sítio Joaninha receives our outreach programme for the third time during school holidays.
This is an important part of our strategy to involve this community in our proposal to implant a new activity centre in their neighbourhood. Hopefully by the end of this year we will be able to offer the children and young people of Sítio Joaninha daily activities that embrace Arts, Culture, Sport and the Environment. But we need your help.
Our presence in the community will hopefully fire some major social changes urgently needed in this so abandoned community, which still houses many of the families that once worked (slaved) on the regions major rubbish tip that was closed down seven years ago.

Everything is changing recently.
The weather, just a few months ago so cold and dark, is bright and warm again, at long last.
My moods; perhaps because of the sun and warmth, I am much happier recently.
The people around me - my sister became an adult last month; my family and friends seem more relaxed; everyone seems to have quietened down a bit.
But above all: me.
I turned fourteen on the 5th, six days ago. I spent three days at a musical residential course, a full day down at the yard, and another day at the British Open Show Jumping Championships (pictures from that up soon, I promise).
But aside from everything I've done in the past six days, somehow, I've felt different. Perhaps for the first time after a birthday, I've felt older. Maybe it's the realisation of what I'm going to do whilst I'm fourteen - part of my GCSEs, a school concert, another production; Year Ten. Maybe it's the amount I've accomplished within my thirteenth year - horse riding achievements, new friendships, sorting out my life in certain ways.
Things changed a long time ago, and I'm past that now. But the truth is nothing ever stops changing, and it's better that way. I feel older, and I feel better, and excited as to what is going to change in the next year. I feel more responsible, and happier, and I'm ready to move away from things that happened when I was thirteen, and not fall into the same traps again.
I've done something I don't always do: I've made a decision. And my decision is that change is good.
I hope my decision doesn't change.
My absolute favourite and the last from my Easter shoot - I'm so pleased with how this series turned out! :)
8-year old Kaiky; what future is there in store for him...?
Can we change his World? Maybe, with a little help from our friends?
We have now reached USD$3.190,00 with our Flickr Christmas Campaign, “Reaching for a Star”, that’s almost 32% of our total aim and still rising...
That will purchase some of the equipment needed for our new shelter, but there’s still a long way to go.............................
Good people!
We are preparing a new shelter for some of the street kids from the centre of São Paulo. This is a partnership project with a young Norwegian lady who has decided to join us and make the street kids her life too! The house is already purchased and now it needs to be equipped. This will be a small, family-structured project, one which has proven itself from my own experiences as a long-term foster parent for many street kids these last 14 years, two of whom are now young adults and will be assisting with the running of the shelter.
I will be the mentor for these young apprentices.
Our main aim is to implement foster-care as an important facility for recuperated street children in Brazil. Today many kids are doomed to live the rest of their childhood in an institutional setting due to the lack of structured family alternatives.
The shelter aims to tackle small numbers of children coming off the streets, where Hummingbird will be their reference for positive social reintegration and their pathway to a new family structure.
Equipping a home, as you all well know, is no easy task for any family, but we aim to have the home up and running by February/March 2007. If you feel this cause worthy please don't hesitate to make your contribution to the Reaching for a Star Campaign:
To give you just some idea of our needs:
Fridge: $700,00
Gas Cooker: $700,00
Washing Machine: $600,00
Installation of two bathrooms: $2.800,00
Installation of kitchen: $1.500,00
Kitchenware: $1.000,00
TV / Video / DVD: $750,00
Computer: $900,00
Mattresses and bedclothes: $1.200,00
Furnishings: $2.000,00
etc. etc.
As you can imagine, the needs, even for the basic necessities, are many, but if we reach the $10.000,00 target for the Reaching for a Star campaign (plus a little more), we will have installed the house ready for use. A little from many will make all the difference.
Please help us to help more kids leave the streets and certain death!
I'm sure you would if you knew them...........
Thank you!
