..and so it begins. March photo challenge, picture #1, is ‘ your shoes’.
Well, these are my boots so I’m already cheating. Pathetic, I know. I’ve had these boots for several years and they are just about done. They have hiked through parts of the Mojave Desert, Yosemite, Desolation Wilderness, Tahoe, the Grand Canyon and countless miles closer to home. They have been there while fishing striped bass and bullhead on the Colorado, rainbow trout in the Sierras and one late night when we hooked a huge fish at Lake Havasu only discover it was a lowly lake carp. These boots have witnessed hours of cutting wood, kept my feet (somewhat) warm while I worked under my truck and protected my toes while blasting through the desert in a dune buggy. These boots are no longer made for walking. They are shot. They are cut up, busted up, worn in and worn out. They have been used and abused, as boots should be, for they are NOT shoes.
This sharp Challenger belongs to Dave, a good friend in my church.

I will be using this camera in week 471 of my 52 film cameras in 52 weeks project:

For the first full week in 2019 of my 52 cameras in 52 weeks project, I decided to use my dad's Lizars Challenge folding plate camera. This dates from around 1905 and is in very good condition. I will be using a roll film back as I don't have any glass plates. I expect to take most of the 8 exposures indoors using a tripod, bit I hope to try a couple outside. I've loaded it with Rollei Pan ISO 25 black and white negative film.
This is my entry, that I've made for the 32x32 challenge at Classic-castle.com. The base of the castle is on a 32x32 baseplate.
