Out to look for sunsets, we came across a pair of swans with two cygnets instead. The sunset was forgotten as it cast a lovely warm light on the parents. Their white plumage, however, made it a bit of a struggle to photograph as I either blew out the highlights or put them in the shadows. Spot metering helped but did make the background darker then it actually was.
We were disappointed to see only two babies. Despite the intimidating size of Mom and Dad, I imagine predation from bigger fish, raccoons, birds, and even snapping turtles all combine to make survival a challenge.

" Pours hazy reddish brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, raisins, toffee and sweet malt. Flavor is moderat to heavy sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light moderate carbonation, a slightly oily mouthfeel and alcohol warmth in the finish. "
The Challenge:
Your final challenge will be what this competition is all about...Avant Garde(AG) and who better to inspire you to the heights of Avant Garde, but the embodiment of AG herself...Lady Gaga. This superstar is Avant Garde to the max with a little splash of fantasy to keep everyone on their toes and speaking of toes don't forget those Gaga shoes. Wherever she goes Lady G goes there in Avant Garde style. Heck I'd like to bet that she wears AG to take out her garbage!!! With that in mind your final challenge is to design an outfit that would suit Lady G to a T.
Of all the challenges this was probably the hardest one to conceive since we are supposed to create a look for THE Lady Gaga. In the vastness of the possible looks, I remembered that The Lady herself will be coming to my country to have a big concert next month, so I imagined myself designing for her opening number here and what more could express my country's national identity than the Terno, a butterfly sleeved formal dress, and the Kalesa, a horse carriage that is decorated with colorful flaglettes and other blings. For this challenge I started out with a clean color palette, beige, cream and white to offset the otherwise flamboyant shape of the outfit. The sleeves are reminiscent of the Terno. The whole outfit is made of Jusi, an indigenous fabric and velvet panels. as for the embellishment, I opted for texture not shine so I used squared shells to use as breaker from the semi sheer fabric. Saran hair fringes finishes the look, I also made the Hoof shoes with tail, and the horse headpiece/wig to make the look more cohesive and utterly show stopping ready.

I especially like the way the kitten on the ground came out. I should have worked on it longer to fix the other kitten.

My neighbors 2023 Dodge Challenger R/T. The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack has a 392 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that delivers 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque and is paired with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. In addition it has four-wheel disc, four-piston Brembo performance brakes, as well as Line Lock and Launch Control..
Last week's photo was inspired by a japanese test I had: I had to learn about 150 kanji (japanese ideograms) in like two days. After spending hours complaining, I decided to take it as a challenge, so here's the theme of the week :)
(I have to be honest, I now have something like a kanji-phobia but it's ok)

Chelmsford Diocese are running a Lent Cross challenge, and this is my contribution - a rock with a cross formed along natural faultlines, with an added quote from Alice In Wonderland which I saw on Facebook and loved! #chelmslentcross #LiveLent
Chelmsford Diocese says - Take our Lent Cross Challenge
We invite you to take part in our Lent Cross Challenge, designed to keep the cross at the heart of Easter.
It is very simple, all you need to do is find, make, bake, paint, identify a cross during Lent. Then take a picture of it and either post it on a social media site and use the hashtags #chelmslentcross and #LiveLent
Or collect them to make a collage of cross images that develops during lent leading to Easter day.
The crosses can be anything from a crack in the pavement to a shape in the clouds. There are crosses all around us, if we just stopped to look for them.
HAD to go to Mom & Dad’s so I could post for Jules’ Photo Challenge Group!
At home, still no connectivity so I am way behind. Yes I really did have my hair totally bleached and died pink!!

Once at the bottom you will find a small gallery of pictures and fallen trees and such...
Simply take a picture of yourself posing somewhere down there but make sure there are pictures behind you. Post the pictures as usual in Flickr and to the Pirate Challenges. Then take some time to explore this wonderful place.

Peace to you from the Pirate.
