I made this thing at some point around 1989 when I first became interested in entoptic phenomena. Then took a photo of it. Then lost it. Then lost the photo. Then found the photo and scanned it, then lost the photo again. Then lost the .tiff file from the scan. I just found it again, so here it is as a jpeg, in the hope that by uploading it, it should be more difficult to lose it.
Fired ckay plaque about 6x12 inches.
My first foray into HDR!! I figured that ceramic pieces which have a lot of texture might come up well with this imaging technique...

"Are you my mother?" Does anyone know anything about this delightful piece? I found this boy and his horse in the Salvation Army about a month ago. The pieces is hollow, but I could not find any markings.
Just got this.... the latest work of Cathy Koball, folk artist and professional rosemal'er from Grand Meadow, Minnesota. Hand carved mahogany in the "Lord's Prayer" and hand painted in oils by Cathy. My grandkids' antiques...
In de Amsterdamse P.C. Hooftstraat is door Studio RAP de gevel van een boetiek vernieuwd. Op de gevel van het Ceramic House zijn expressieve, 3D-geprinte keramische tegels en bakstenen geplaatst waarvan de textuur is bepaald door een algoritme. De gevel heeft zijn oorspronkelijke en voor de P.C. Hooftstraat kenmerkende driedelige indeling behouden.
De maat, het type en de kleur van de nieuwe gevelmaterialen en ornamenten zijn afgestemd op die van de naastgelegen gebouwen. Wel nemen de keramische tegels en bakstenen een andere vorm aan, waardoor de gevel van een afstandje haast lijkt te golven.
Op straatniveau is de gevel bekleed met grote 3D-geprinte keramische tegels van circa 40 x 20 cm, geglazuurd in parelmoer wit met een subtiele gele tint. Ter hoogte van de begane grond zijn de geornamenteerde tegels vlak, naar boven toe worden ze expressiever.
De gevel van de hoger gelegen verdiepingen is samengesteld uit 3D-geprinte bakstenen die geglazuurd zijn in drie verschillende tinten rood. De bakstenen zijn samengesteld volgens het originele kruisverband van het metselwerk en zijn het meest expressief aan de onderzijde van dit geveldeel. De bakstenen worden gelijmd in lasergesneden roestvrijstalen cassettes.
Een doel van het ontwerp is volgens Studio RAP om mensen te inspireren met digitaal vakmanschap. Daarnaast verwijst de keramische gevel naar de collectie van het nabijgelegen Rijksmuseum, waar een grote verzameling keramiek uit de hele wereld wordt tentoongesteld, aldus het bureau.

Studio RAP has renovated the façade of a boutique on Amsterdam’s P.C. Hooftstraat. The façade of the "Ceramic House" features expressive, 3D-printed ceramic tiles and bricks with textures determined by an algorithm. It retains the original tripartite layout characteristic of the P.C. Hooftstraat.
The size, type, and color of the new façade materials and ornaments harmonize with those of the adjacent buildings. However, the ceramic tiles and bricks take on unique forms, creating an effect where the façade appears to ripple when viewed from a distance.
At street level, the façade is clad in large 3D-printed ceramic tiles measuring approximately 40 x 20 cm, glazed in a pearlescent white with a subtle yellow hue. While the ornamented tiles are flat at ground level, they become more expressive as they rise.
The façade of the upper floors consists of 3D-printed bricks glazed in three different shades of red. Arranged in the original cross-bond masonry pattern, the bricks are most expressive at the base of this section. They are bonded into laser-cut stainless steel cassettes.
According to Studio RAP, one of the design's goals is to inspire people through digital craftsmanship. The firm also notes that the ceramic façade references the nearby Rijksmuseum, which houses a vast collection of ceramics from around the world.
With white daisy flowers, red berries, white ball-shaped flowers, a white daisy bud, pine twigs, green lobed leaves and some dried flowers hand painted on it. The background is antiqued with a light gold color. Someone didn't want it so they took it to Kent Recycle Center in Carmel, New York and it can be yours free!
