The last remaining object in a set of stoneware vases and lamps I made inspired by seed heads .
The glazes were made using wood ash and fired to 1280C

For Macro Mondays theme "Ceramic", a Japanese sake flask & cups, known as tokkuri and ochoko. To say 'cheers!' say 'kanpai!', which means 'empty cup'. HMM!

I really love this as an ornament. Very impressed with the precision of this pyramid and no idea where she got the idea from. We spent some sessions with a master potter who loved glazes and Raku. This is not a raku firing but I love the effect. We had lots of laughs in our sessions and our tutor had/ has a great sense of humour. Just as well. LOL

Yesterday I visited Beckford Silk where as well as selling their beautiful silk, they have a shop with other people's crafts. There were some very imaginative and elegant hats and I love the patterns that the shadows of the hat make across the ceramic face.

Macro Monday's
Ceramic Figurine that my Great Grandmother Florence gave to me as a gift. She passed away on my 5th Birthday. September 28,1962.
I treasure this and she's been displayed on my dresser for over 50 years.
Some more EPROM's& some CCD & CMOS sensors. These are pretty much always made from Ceramics, only the cheaper variants are made from plastics.
