Sometimes I get lucky with my XSi and get a fairly decently sharp shot. This hoverfly was about a half inch long.
EDIT:
Some very nice person on BugGuide identified this as a Toxomerus marginatus, female.

I invite you to stroll through My Galleries.
Wenner-Gren Center is a tower and building complex in Vasastaden, Stockholm, Sweden. The building was constructed 1959–1961, and opened in 1962.
The Center consists of three buildings named Helicon, Pylon and Tetragon. Pylon is a high tower, Helicon is a lower semicircular part surrounding the tower, and Tetragon is a box-shaped building next to the tower. Helicon contains housing for visiting scientists to institutions in the Stockholm area, and this part is owned by one of the Wenner-Gren Foundations
Haines & Kibblehouse SD40-2s 3549 and 6164 (ex. Burlington Northern and Norfolk & Western respectively) bring a healthy cut of stone past Browns Feeds. The stone is bound for interchange with NS where it’ll continue on to Delaware and South Jersey.
I was in the process of setting up this shot when Reston Town Center (RTC) security came by and informed me I couldn't shoot with a tripod.
Because of all the foot traffic? (the place was empty)
Because of damage to the sidewalk? (rubber tipped tripod)
No, specifically to deter professional photographers...who are welcome to photograph anything hand held during the day. Security told me you needed written permission to photograph these buildings with a tripod, but didn't need any if you weren't using one.
I had a nice chat with the security guard, but it wasn't going anywhere so I asked for some contact information for the management company and am drafting an email to them now.
I get really frustrated with shit like this. I didn't even get the shot centered perfectly before I had to pack up and go.
