Nik and Topaz filters applied. This is not the community pool I shot through a chain link fence; this one has the vertical iron fencing you see in the background. My little 60 mm lens fit right in the space between the bars :)
The largest fireworks display in the Midwest blasted off in Columbus during the blue hour. That cast a nice soft light over a lone island on the river which turned into a party of kayakers.
Originally opened in 1971, the Disney World monorail system is one of the most heavily used monorails in the world. The original 2 routes have now expanded to 3, and the mark vi trains have been in use since 1989. Taken during Disney’s 50th anniversary celebration, offering me this unique opportunity to photograph the monorail with the festive topiaries.

The New York Botanical Garden celebrates the November bloom of Kiku, the Japanese chrysanthemum.
Each flower bed grows from a single stem and is arranged to create a shape that resembles a landscape.

‘Kiku’ (the Japanese word for ‘chrysanthemum’) is on display, celebrating the flower's importance in Japanese culture.
Over the past 11 months, they have been expertly trained in modern and ancient styles.
Many Kiku designs are meticulously woven onto bamboo frames to create floral displays representing mountains, cascading waterfalls, and other fantastical shapes that have been perfected over centuries in Japan.
This image began with my photo of cobalt-blue goblets at a Dollar Tree store. I manipulated the image, overlapped several copies of it, and added an overlay of a texture from my photo of multicolored tinsel.
I created the image to post in my photostream on New Year's Eve 12/31/17, but I forgot.
....and stay positive!

Celebrating being back among the living after getting a cortisone shot in my shoulder so that I can now move my arm again! Yey! Survived work yesterday even though I was fairly useless there between being unable to use my right arm, and having stabbed myself in the eye with my mascara wand... because I'm right handed. I knew the day wasn't going to go well. Miraculously I didn't have to cut myself out of the blouse I was wearing when I got home from work (I was pretty sure I was going to have to ... either that or wear it until my shoulder got better...) and there was nothing I could do, so I went to sleep ...for the next 14 hours, with my shoulder surrounded by ziploc bags of ice... which melted ... and leaked... so that I got to wake up in a cold puddle... the start of another great day. But it got better... even though I couldn't get an appointment at the orthopedist, they have a walk in clinic... where I got a cortisone shot and now I am able to function again ... almost like a normal person (but when was I ever a normal person anyway?!) So, I'm not supposed to lift or push anything over 5 lbs for the next week. My camera is less that 5 lbs... so I'm good. (the ammo at my job is way more than 5 lbs....but it's not going to be my problem for the next week. Oh well...)
This is a shot that I have taken before, but going back and looking at it now, I felt the need to reshoot it! I think it's better now! (although I'm not sure about the flowers.... what do you think... better without the flowers?)
