inaugurate verb: to put something into use

Turn up on election day in Australia and I'll bet London to a brick on you'll be offered a democracy sausage. There'll be equal odds that it will be cooked on a flat barbecue plate by someone from a local service club or school auxiliary, slapped diagonally on a piece of square, fluffy, characterless, sliced white bread, buried beneath undercooked onions if you're there early, or cremated ones if you're there late, and garnished with dead horse.

celebrate verb: to honour or praise

The sausage is a wondrous thing; a mystery bag of bits and pieces — whether it's upper class or as down-to-earth as a Scottish haggis. It is never celebrated more democratically than when it's laid down in the embrace of a bun, dressed here in a simplified form that you might encounter in København; a world away from the queue to vote.

This wiener is a pale simulacrum of the frankfurter it could be. Stuffed with ground bits rejected then selected for their inferiority, and wrapped in a dyed orange/brown skin, it'll have to do for this inauguration. Dressing this dog is the first, the inaugural task of a new batch of red kraut — fermented in the Danish-style with fennel seeds. The mustard is sweet, in the Swedish-style, and the onions are just a few metres from where they grew in this green land.

commemorate verb: to mark or celebrate

Here's to the not so humble hotdog! It commemorates its disparate parts, its humble origins in Germany, its adoption and adaptation around the World, symbol of getting together, getting along and the whole made better than the sum of its parts.

20th August is St. Stephen’s Day in Hungary and it is a public holiday. We celebrate the foundation of the Hungarian state 1000 years ago.

If you never tried to shoot with dlsr a firework, it looks very easy. Last year i made a lot of unusable picture from another firework.

This time i spent a day before the firework to learn how is it working.

I used this:

- tripod (of course)

- remote control (the exposure time was 2-6 second, i push the bottom when the lights started until end, but not more than 6 second, because the burn out)

- bulb exposure time

- manual focus to infinity

- camera to manual mode

- 13 aperture (the best is between 11-16)

- iso on the minimum

- raw

- WB to lightning, and in LR you have to change it to auto... that's why a lot of firework picture so yellow, the white balance is incorrect, that's why you have to use raw files..

And the thing what I don't find on the intrenet, very very important to use a card with high level writing speed. After exposure it was really bad to wait 5-10 second to shoot an other picture.

I was in the Halászbástya Restaurant for free...:) I asked them on phone to let me make a few shoot from the terrace...:) nobody else got this idea:) there was a huge crowd on public places:)

This is a shot i took last year when me and hubby celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary in the Dominican. It was such a beautiful place and a relaxing and amazing trip. We are planning on going back for his 30th next march. I was worried about taking my Nikon with all the sand and water, so i just took photos on my phone, i added a bit of a texture to it too. Hope you all are having a beautiful day today.

Celebrating Christmas in Downtown Baker City Oregon

Enjoying the holiday festivities in downtown Baker City including the COVID modified CASA Classic Christmas Gingerbread Tour of Homes and all the festive holiday windows and decoration on Main Street.

Baker City, Oregon’s historic downtown is one of the largest and most intact turn of the 20th century downtowns in the Northwest and is surrounded by historic neighborhoods. The downtown has been beautifully restored and revitalized over the years and is a vibrant and bustling district with lots of small locally owned shop. Throughout the year, and especially during the holiday season, the downtown hosts a number of festive celebrations and is simply a perfect backdrop for celebrating Christmas on Main Street

Countdown Continues...

I was tough to celebrate the long weekend and momentarily forget about what has happened at work. Thanks to all my friends to gave their comfort and support in all this. We headed to Miami Beach QLD (Saturday) and Redcliffe QLD (Monday) for a dawn shoot with two of my friends and it was a fantastic day indeed as we waited for sunrise.

And oh let me be the first to greet myself a Happy Birthday!

The We’re Here! gang is peeking into cupboards today.

Redcliffe is located on the western shore of Moreton Bay, which is in turn partly bounded to the East by Moreton Island. Lieutenant James Cook sailed past Moreton Island on the 17th of May 1770 during his exploratory voyage up the eastern coast of Australia.

Redcliffe's commemoration of the Bicentenary of Cook's journey, features a large boulder and plaque in a foreshore park, accompanied by a smaller stone from the ruins of Whitby Abbey, Whitby being the Yorkshire village in England from which Cook sailed.

Despite Qatar Airways commencing operations back in January 1994, the flag-carrier has decided that 2022 would be the year to celebrate their 25th anniversary, namely as the carrier was relaunched in 1997 by His Highness The Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Today, Qatar Airways has earned itself quite a reputation, and to celebrate their 25th anniversary, repainted one of their Boeing 777s in their original 1994-livery.

Qatar Airways was one of the first customers for the Boeing 787, the first examples delivered new back in late-2012 (hard to imagine the first Boeing 787s are now approaching 10 years old!) featuring new interiors, especially in Business Class having debuted the Collins Super Diamond seats, which are also fitted on select Airbus A350-900s and on all Airbus A380s.

The Boeing 787-8s in Qatar Airways fleet pretty much replaced the Airbus A330s on their short-to-long haul routes, operating to destinations which don't require the much larger Airbus A350s and Boeing 777s. With all 30 Boeing 787-8s in service by 2016, the flag-carrier announced a further order for 30 of the larger and more popular Boeing 787-9, with first delivery back in late-2019, albeit prolonged with just 7 in service as of October 2022 with a further 23 to be delivered.

At present, the Boeing 787-9s are operating specific routes but do deputise frequently on existing Boeing 787-8 routes... The aircraft feature new cabins; due to the fuselage being too narrow to fit their signature QSuites, Qatar Airways opted to install the new Adient Ascent seats in Business Class, produced by Adient Aerospace. Once deliveries are complete, Qatar Airways will operate 60 Boeing 787s in total, 30 between both the -8 and -9 variants.

Currently, Qatar Airways operates 37 Boeing 787s, which includes 30 Boeing 787-8s and 7 Boeing 787-9s. Qatar Airways have 23 Boeing 787-9s on-order.

Bravo Charlie Zulu is one of 30 Boeing 787-8s operated by Qatar Airways, delivered new to the flag-carrier on 1st February 2016 and she is powered by 2 General Electric GEnx-1B engines.
