i found this shot of an abandoned classroom at the carr school in st. louis, missouri to be paticularly relevent social commentary on the state of the education system in the united states. there is even grafitti on the center blackboard that states, "i'm sick with worry". i think everyone is.

Antlers are shed by deer and elk every spring, and new ones are grown over the summer for the fall rut. Finding and collecting these shed antlers are a hobby for many families and individuals, especially out West. Many antlers are kept for the fireplace mantle, while other are sold to artisans who use them for carvings, handles, or for creating lamps and chandeliers like the one pictured here.

sleep deprivation, an empty stomach, an open parking garage, and my Canon AE-1 in my Jansport backpack all somehow all came together to inspire this shot....

I don't know. A bit weird even for me.

It's been about a month now since I took it, never thinking it would make the "flickr grade"

but here I am.....

sleep deprived, a bit overworked, no film in my camera, and at a loss for what to post.

the sattler theater, on the east side of buffalo, new york was originally constructed in 1914 (for $35K) as a movie theater that had a capacity of almost 1000 seats. as time went on, the building changed hands several times being used as everything from a broadway theater to both a church and a mosque. recently it has been purchased by a group of media professionals who are hoping to return this once beautiful theater to its original form.

7 Days of Shooting ... Shadowy Friday ... light

On May 27 2006, while on a Business Trip to Jupiter, Florida, I visited Whitehall in Palm Beach, Florida. Whitehall, was Flagler's Mansion in Florida, however it has been preserved as the Flagler Museum. As I walked through Whitehall, I took several photographs inside which show the enormous size of his residence. The Staircases themselves illustrate the enormous size of his Mansion. The address is 615 Whitney Way (aka: Cocoanut Row & Whitehall Way).

Photographed using the Halina Pix 110F, and Lomography's "Tiger" 110 format film.

This image is taken directly underneath the lobby ceiling lights that hang down from a very high ceiling. The lamps slowly change colors, glowing beautifully. An earlier image on my stream shows the lights the lobby with the Christmas tree. The story goes that these lights are programmed to glow blue or pink when another baby is born there. There are about 8 babies a day delivered here! I would not know if the story is true, for I was standing at the delivery area in the hallway at the time baby Virginia made her arrival.

We were tired of the old light hanging over the kitchen table, so installed a new one this afternoon.

The living room on the first floor is an oblong space, which wasn’t easy to furnish. It exhibits the – albeit ever changing – modern design treasures of the couple. The sofa was designed by Milo Baughman in the 50s. The photograph above it is by artist Martin Denker. The two leather chairs are works by French designer Pierre Paulin, the book rack a piece by Charlotte Perriand. The black and white wooden chairs are by Joe Colombo, the “Artichoke Lamp” by Danish designer Poul Henningsen (Louis Poulsen). The carpet was custom made (Asha Carpets).
