ceiling light shade. complete with energy saving bulb, shot from below. hawick, scottish borders, scotland.
As well as the intricate detail of the light itself, this shot shows quite well the 'giraffe skin' pattern that has been meticulously applied to the walls and ceiling of the main first floor room of the Casa Batllo by Antoni Gaudi.
You are the night light,
Ripping through my wicked world
How you make it sparkle and glow
Before I lose control,
There's just one thing you should know
This is for real, this time I mean it
I'm coming clean, please don't let go
I said from the start, that you could take it or leave it
I'd prefer that you keep it
Don't let go
Don't let go
Don't let go

I love this light fixture.
It was in my cousin's house in Canada.
It gave off the most beautiful glow across the ceiling...

Colorado Springs, CO - Rainy days are opportunities to explore creative photography and sometimes inspiration is just hanging out in your own backyard.
This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a monthly challenge called "Freestyle On The Fifth". A different theme chosen by a member of the group each month, and the image is to be posted on the 5th of the month.
This month the theme, "Sparkle" was chosen by Lisa (red stilletto).
Nothing sparkles quite so much under light as crystal chandeliers, and that was their purpose. Whilst we are all used to the illumination of electric light, crystal chandeliers were invented in the Eighteenth Century to reflect candlelight and thus provide more illumination. Mirrors were also used for the same purpose.
These elegant chandeliers I photographed at three different places I visited whilst on holiday in January.
The main right-hand photograph is of is a Nineteenth Century Victorian crystal chandelier in the drawing room of Werribee Mansion, once the home of the Chirnside family, now a historical house open to the public. Visit www.parks.vic.gov.au/places-to-see/parks/werribee-park for more details if you would like to visit Werribee Mansion.
The top left-hand photograph is of a Twentieth Century Edwardian crystal chandelier in the entrance hall of "Warwilla", a grand red brick mansion on St Kilda Road built in 1896.
The bottom left-hand photograph is of an Eighteenth Century Georgian crystal chandelier in the Green Room of the Johnston Collection, a small private museum in East Melbourne that specialises in Eighteenth Century and older antiques and decorative arts, consisting entirely of the collection of antique dealer Mr. William Johnston. Visit: johnstoncollection.org/ if you would like to find out more about the Johnston Collection or visit it.
Ceiling light gives the illusion of a continuous band that is white on one side and gold on the other.
Gaudi’s Casa Batllo’ architectural masterpiece shows wonders at any detail. This spiraling ceiling was in the dining room at first floor. Another, modern wonder of this museum is the dynamic ticket price, which strongly suggest anybody to plan the visit and buy tickets on the Internet to avoid witnessing rally from 27 to over 40 Euro (it changes every 15’). Something like the NY stock exchange 😉.
I'm a landlocked scuba diver. I miss these fellas. So it is no wonder that the ceiling lights at the Newport Aquarium look to me a lot like moon jellyfish, particularly after I just watched moon jellyfish slowly swim in their aquarium exhibit for a quarter of an hour.

"DAWN" Retro Living Collection
Our new living collection "DAWN" has arrived with a few pieces which will be expanded on in the later months. It's comfortable, stylish and sleek with an overall "feel good" look. I've split the collection into two colour groups, warm and cool tones for both the fabrics and woods. For our first pieces released we have a comfy chair with 32 high quality sit animations (both male & female) and colour menus that allow you to select 6 leather or velvet options for either the main seat or the pillow / ribbing combined - 12 colours in all. This way you can mix and match the seat and details, colour wise or have a straight solid colour look. The floating square table comes in 3 neutral woods or 3 cool woods, in 3 metal options all made to match the seating colours. Then for some accent pieces, we have pendant lighting with on/off functionality (in 4 woods), an Art Deco floor light with 6 levels of glow, then finally packs of luxurious velvet rugs to match in 12 colours, split into warm and cool tones. This retro collection would be perfect for lounges, bars, café areas or just a place for total relaxation.

DESIGN DETAILS
I've always enjoyed the shape of the Moravian star, so I have come out with a mini collection in the vein of a more fantasy / vintage look. For Syndicate Sunday I have 4 colourations of this type of style in ceiling pendant form and each pack comes with 12 lights. Basically you are getting 4 chain lengths in 3 overall light sizes so you can choose based on your ceiling height. The lights have an on/off touch function with subtle glow, full brightness, and ambient environmental lighting included to offer more realism. You can mix and match these as well for colour, size and lengths. These are an unique option if you are wanting a different light style in your space.

I took this Photograph of a Whole Lot of Coca Cola Signs and Memorabilia in a Display Case at the World of Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. This is similar to the previous Photograph, except it it is shifted further to the Right Side of the Display Case, Notice the Large Coke bottle on the extreme Left Side of this Photograph. This same Coke Bottle appears in the Center of the previous Photograph. Notice the Price on that Coca Cola Sign was 5 Cents
I didn't remove the Spot Light Reflection that appears on the Woman's Hair in the Top Left Center because It was would have been somewhat more difficult than removing it from the previous Photograph. Also, you will notice my reflection, in two places, at the Bottom Left Side of this Photograph.
DISCLAIMER: This Photograph was a Tough One to touch up in Photoshop Elements 10 because of the Reflections on the Glass Display Case and and numerous reflections from the Florescent Lights and Spot Lights in the Ceiling. I spent a few hours fixing the most of the reflects, this Photograph was much more difficult to clean up. Some of the remaining Reflections, such as the two Reverse Circular Coco Cola Logos in the center of the Photograph actually add to my Presentation.
Pharmacist John Stith Pemberton invented Coca Cola in 1886. The Coca Cola Museum fronts on a small park near the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel where we stayed during our visit to Atlanta. The World of Coca Cola Museum is located at 121 Baker Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313.
In June 2018, my wife & I attended a Family Wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn, 275 Baker Street in Atlanta, Georgia. One end the hallway on the on the 13 Floor (they call it Floor PH) gave me a Great View of the CSX Tracks, while the other end of the hallway gave me a great view of the Skyview Ferris Wheel across the street from Centennial Olympic Park.
Since we were in Atlanta for several days, I had some time to visit the Coca Cola Museum, which was a short 2 blocks away from our Hotel.

SUNRISE at Sea ~ very windy photo-shoot from the top-deck
Just north-west of the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean Sea
*{About The Shot: I am compelled to tell the story of this early morning sunrise-shoot as it was like nothing else I've ever experienced as a seasoned cruiser. This was shot in 'sustained' 50mph winds with gusts up to 60-70mph! Shot through a slit in the glass of the viewing platform 12 decks up, the sunrise was directly in front of the bow. Myself and 2 others were the only photographers crazy enough to attempt this, and we could barely stand! We were laughing...but we got our shots. If the half-wall and glass were not there we would not have been able to stand-up. We had to anchor our cameras against the iron supports just to hold it steady. A tri-pod...forget it! I get up for every sunrise and try not to miss these opportunities (even though it was 7AM and I got to bed at 2:30AM!) LOL With the sun slightly off the port bow it tells me we are now steaming SE heading toward Grand Cayman, not yet visible on the horizon. - Would I do it again? You betcha!! Thanks for looking.]

No telling how many years this sat in my closet waiting to get the ladder and hang this. I decided it was easier to hang it in its original state and unbag it afterward. Worked fine, took some time to remove the tiny plastic bags covering each strand. I am looking for the perfect bulb now.
Generally I do not use a ceiling fixture, but prefer lamps. I have another exact capiz shell shade, intending to create hanging capiz shell lamps on either side of the bed....suspended from the ceiling. Hmmmmmm.......where to put the twin.....
