Thank you for having the time to look threw my work.
The Southern Hawker, to the untrained eye (mine) this Dragonfly is very similar to the Emperor Dragonfly, caught this one in flight over a local pond down here at a Devon Wildlife Trust site.

Saturday Self Challenge
This week in SSC:
"Geometric shapes in colour or black and white"
You can use 1 shape or several using any subject you like as long as it's geometric in shape.
I was determined to try and find a building for this, not really sure why other than we have a distinct lack of new buildings which would work for this challenge, most stuff around here is Victorian or earlier, and a bit wonky. So I took a trip into the nearby town of Halifax and wandered around trying to see what I could find. The Halifax Building Society HQ (Now Lloyd’s Banking Group) would have done, but I’ve used it before so I was on the lookout for something different.
I’d just about given up when I spotted the new Broad Street Plaza complex through the trees. It’s only been there a few years, so that’s my excuse for never having looked at the roof before. I decided to take the shot with the geometric shapes sandwiched between the sky and the trees, just because I thought it looked better this way, I hope I'm not breaking the rules :)
The building itself is home to a VUE cinema, a few eateries and a gym. There is also a bar called The Percy Shaw, named in honour of the famous Halifax man, the inventor of cats eyes, or reflecting road studs as they are often called these days.
I don’t like the building as it’s very out of keeping with the majority of the architecture in the town, which will probably be still standing long after this has gone.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

There's been a dismal lack of photographic activity round these parts of late...hopefully get back out and about soon.
In the meantime here's another pic from last months trip up to Padley Gorge
Thank you for taking the time to look in :)
When I wake up
I can't even stay up
I slept through the day, fuck
I'm not getting younger
But when I'm older
I'll be so much stronger
I'll stay up for longer
Caught a vibe
Baby, are you coming for the ride?
I just wanna look into your eyes
I just wanna stay for the night, night, night
When we take a drive
Maybe we can hit the 405
Hypnotized by the lights
Man, this must be the life
I actually saw this feather flying through the air and get caught on the tree branch and so I had my title Caught and held.
Heading out to American Canyon Wetlands I spotted this White-tailed Kite on this branch that I thought, maybe, he had caught a prey and was eating it...looks like I may have came a little late as he was 'giving me the eye' and flew off to a higher perch.
I wasn't expecting this White-faced Heron to take off and subsequently missed the top of its wings, but I still liked the image anyway.
As the Moon Started to appear and the veil thinned the barrier between worlds thinned and her true form appeared... the Angel that healed his demon the Demon that calmed her Fury.. together their secrets became revealed... Photo taken @ Sunny's with the backdrop Called Amitie Secret Garden for the challenge.

Well here is something that caught my eye as I walked down to the shops , there has often been a flag flying here - sometimes the Union or Union Jack , sometimes the Ukraine Flag , sometimes the England Flag , but today I note it is a flag of Remembrance .
Try as I might , the wind was not playing ball and if it was not laying wrapped on the flag pole it was at best just a gentle flutter in the breeze , so I did not get a straight out view of the flag to see the whole image properly . There was one that showed the flag straighter but the " Lest We Forget " part was folded over and hidden . So take as you view it and remember the poignant message it makes .
I have taken quite a few shots here , including the one where the wind was blowing in two different directions at once and on another occasion when " Heathrow Had A Problem "
