Obviously not including some items that are ugly (silver plastic 70-300G zoom lens) or used to take the picture (24mm f2.8 AI lens and D80 digital camera and my two flashes).

This is most of my photo gear. I don't think there is anything here that isn't used pretty regularly. I have one "kit" for the FE, one for the F4 and one for the M645 Pro. Each with its own bag, ready to go.

Strobist info: One SB-600 on TTL cable extended with CAT5 firing down through home made softbox from behind and above. One SB-26 on stand firing up at top foamcore panel for bounce fill. SB-26 triggered by optical slave mode. All manual.

Maybe this is why we were having network problems in our house. The cord dangling from a table was apparently too much of a temptation for our foster dog, Starlett, so she chewed it. She's kind of a pest that way.

But no, really, you should adopt her.

I am pretty sure we will be good friends!

Kittens that Sean's family was fostering over Thanksgiving :)

Someone please plug in the orange cable, thank you.

This picture focuses on the reproductive act of "camouflage prayer mantises" (Majangella moultoni) of Borneo. The male (on the back of the female) is spreading sperm in the female ootheca.

After seeing so many nice home office setups I decided to post mine. Several years ago my home office was a spare bedroom. When one of my kids decided he needed to be on my payroll again I was evicted to the living room. After a while my wife wanted me out of there as well and said I could finish off our screened in patio. I was in luck because it already had a real roof on it and just needed windows and a door. I did 95% of the work myself. The only things I paid to have done were the windows and the gas fireplace installation. I didn't want to cut any more holes in the roof than necessary so I opted for a ventless model. Since the room is on a cement slab and it gets way to cold here in Michigan I built a subfloor with styrofoam insulation and a moisture barrier below that. I also need to cut a hole in the ceiling to insultate it and installed a couple of roof vents as well. I've always liked the cabin look with so I went with knotty pine paneling for the ceiling, flooring and trim work. For electrical power I ran a new dedicated circuit with plenty of outlets. I also ran cat5, cable tv, and phone lines from the house. The entire project took about 6 months of elapsed time and about 100 trips to home depot. I spend more time in this room than anywhere else in the house as I use it for my new career of job hunting and for gaming.

Strobist: Single light, olympus fl36 triggered via cat5 patched ttl cable, shot through homemade beauty dish, camera left, slightly above subject eye level

This was so much easier before I needed glasses! Ok, ow-o-gw-b-bw-g-brw-br, lol.

This is some of my home lab setup. Its lives up in my loft and is controlled through a Cisco 2511 from my Mac downstairs.

My patch panel for my home network.

Working at an ICT company has its perks. Like finding a very easy object to capture for today's daily challenge. This is one of our network racks. I'm always amazed that all this "spaghetti" just works...

I finally had an opportunity to photograph one of Warrington's new ADL Enviro 200MMCs in the new Cheshire Cat scheme today. 203 (CH12CAT) crosses the Machester Ship Canal as it enters Stockton Heath on an Althrincham-bound Cat5.
