Was going through my ideas list when I stumbled across "making ends meet" as a concept.

Dug out the car batteries I used for day 106 (www.flickr.com/photos/58384486@N07/6668833685/) with some CAT5 cable and voila.... making ends meet

Some tweaks in photoshop, toned in lightroom.:P

strobist: olympus fl36 though diy beauty dish triggered by cat5 patched olympus ttl cable, camera right, approx 3 ft from subjects. Flash at full power, the beauty dish takes away lots of f-stops. Lost my son in the shadows a little. In my defense, it was on the fly and involved both animals and children.

strobist: bare olympus fl36 camera let slightly above eye level, fired by cat5 patched ttl cable. Cranked it up full power to try to get the clouds as dark as I could.

My kids were all wearing their superhero shirts today and I couldn't resist turning them into comic book characters. Beware evil doers.

Such a simple little cable that brings the most beautiful pictures to my screen and allow me to send my little moments in time for you to see here.

Taken for the Smile on Saturday theme of blue-tiful. Without these cables none of this would be happening so they are definitely something to smile about.

My high school was built as a WPA project during the Depression. The main hallways are lined with marble and the auditorium is an art-deco fresco feast. It's pretty cool.

But the building is aging, and every once in a while they talk about tearing it down in order to have a school with air conditioning and cat5 cable in the walls. They've already torn down the great old marquee that used to stand out front, and replaced it with a tiny and pathetic LED sign. Idiots.

"Chapter 4"

Part of the 52 Weeks of 2016

Week:45

Theme: Chapter 4

Category: Storytelling

We get to the final chapter in the storytelling challenge this week. A set of four themes that take place over the course of the year.

The concept behind it is for you to tell a story, one image at a time over those four theme weeks, each image forming a chapter of your story. When viewed in chronological order the images should form a coherent plot or storyline.

"I feel the connection"

We talk of connecting with people, but how much of that is in person and how much is via electronic means? Do you really know the other person? How do you know it's actually a human on the other side?

Chapters 1, 2 and 3 in the comments.

I've spent a lot of time "shooting myself" in this 4 part challenge.

Yet again with camera on tripod, making use of the remote shooting wifi function of the Canon 6D (which is quite handy) to line up, frame and focus the shot.

Again processed in the same style as Chapter 1, 2 and 3, with a 16:9 ratio crop in Lightroom.

Nice to see an RAF jet in the US which I had never seen in the UK.

Delivered to the RAF on 22Sep48. SOC 21Jun54 as a Cat5(c) to 54MU. To Winterbourne Gunner for ground instruction. To IWM Duxford 19May85. To Firbeck 02Mar91. back to IWM Duxford Dec93. Exported to Planes of Fame in Chino Aug97 in exchange for an F-86 Sabre.

Bonita is a very sweet kitty...very petite and shy. She always comes out to greet me when I arrive to bring food and bedding for her and her companions. I wish I could find a nice home for her. It worries me to have her living outdoors...more so than the other cats there. But it would take a special arrangement to keep her happy as she's used to being outdoors and having her freedom..just like her littermates. If I didn't already have three cats and a cattle dog that's not accepting of new cats, I'd take her.
