Part of a 7'X5' paper artwork displayed at the lobby of The Rushmore hotel in Rapid city, South Dakota. It depicts a Lacota buffalo hunt. Art is behind glass so hard to eliminate reflections.

A delicate sunset fading to blues. A dock out into what appears to be the sky...and my favorite element, the life preserver and coiled rope. Ingredients for an image that I personally immediately fell in love with.

The sun shines through the red bottle of a feeder in the morning causing a red cast of light to shine on the hummingbird. It gives this one an artificial ruby-throat.
This once proud vessel that at one time would have cast off on exciting seaborne adventures, is now just a cast off itself.

The family left early Friday to drive about 500 miles to the Asheville, NC area for a week's vacation in a cabin. Of course 10 year olds like to explore, so he was on top of one of the huge boulders laying about when he slipped and fell and broke the bone in his right arm.
The Drs think he will be alright without further surgery but that will be resolved when they return to Florida.

This is my 17th year covering this fun festival filled with color and pageantry and beautiful people. Each year some of the regulars return and sometimes fresh new faces appear to join the eclectic Renaissance Family. Some are vendors or employees, and some customers dress up to fit in with the renaissance festival fun and its 16th century way of life. One big happy family of a few thousand escaping the dull drums of their daily life for a few hours. This year's crop of new faces was lovely. Hope you enjoy the images. I try to capture their joy. Always fun, festive, very colorful and exciting!
Thank you very much for looking. Have a great day! Hazaaa!!

Copies of the famous works of art crammed into three rooms including a copy of the Angel by Matteo Civitali and an imposing copy of David by Michaelangelo.
Fishing at Chilkoot Lake, Alaska.
"L’uknax Adi clan of Tlingit Indians, whose principal symbol is red salmon or sockeye, traditionally owned Chilkoot Lake and Chilkoot river, also called by the English names after their crest animal as Sockeye Clan, Coho Clan and Salmon Clan. Tlingit clans 'historically owned areas of economic production that were most often also places of importance in the Spiritual geography of the region'.
The history of the lake is directly linked to the Chilkoot village, where the Tlingits lived, after which the lake has been named. This village existed near the outlet of the Chilkoot Lake and was divided into two parts by the river; the western part was inhabited by Raven clan Tlingits while the Eagle Clan Tlingits lived on the eastern part. It was an important location for the southeast Alaskan Tlingits who reportedly settled here during pre-historic days when they subsisted on salmon and hooligan fishing; they used Hooligan fish to make fish oil, their cooking medium, by cooking the fishes in a canoe lined with hot rocks."
A popular Victorian era parlor plant. Another tough guy. It was given that name because of its ability to withstand neglect. It is tolerant of low light, low humidity, temperature fluctuation and irregular watering.
Given reasonable conditions it flourishes.
