The little maple leaf removes itself from the crowd, letting the cares be cast away. We, too, can cast our cares on He who is able and enjoy the Living Water only He can give.
Inspired by the cast iron buildings of New York, this modular building was one of the eight 16-wide buildings in The Promenade. It was displayed at BrickWorld Chicago in 2015.

A delicate sunset fading to blues. A dock out into what appears to be the sky...and my favorite element, the life preserver and coiled rope. Ingredients for an image that I personally immediately fell in love with.

Returning home from work I noticed these clouds was casting their shadow on these mountains and I thought it would be a nice frame. So I stopped at the first parking lot and took this picture. I didn't even bother to step out of the car. This shot was taken from my car window.

Good, seasoned pan cleans easily
Stumbled upon this makeshift structure and the whole beach to myself. Sometimes it pays to work the weekend and be off during the weekday. Waimanalo Beach, Oahu Hawaii 2012.

This is my view of my leg at the moment!!
On Saturday night I was on my way back from taking photos of the sunset when I slipped going down a small grassy hill and fractured my leg close to the ankle. I now have the "pleasure" of a cast and crutches for the next 6 weeks.
I should add that the sunset was a non-event and the camera survived the fall :-)
Sorry if I don't get to visit your streams in the next few days.
In the meantime feel free to "sign" my cast :-)

Restoration of the Cast Iron Stove
*Cast iron cool stoves became popular in the 1850's because they were much more efficient than a fireplace.
*The stove was made by the Newark Stove Works & shipped from their Chicago location. This "Acme Triumph" stove includes the following features: a coffee potholder, water reservoir, warming closet, 6 burners, a place for wood & a drawer to clean out ashes.
*The stove was originally found in the main house kitchen & was likely moved to the summer kitchen when the weather became warmer.
* The rusty stove was dismantled & cleaned by using a process called walnut shell blasting. Using crushed walnut shells, instead of sand, removes the rust without damaging the surface of the stove. The stove was then refurbished & carefully put back together.
