Câlnic (German: Kelling, Hungarian: Kálnok) is a commune in Romania, composed of Câlnic and Deal villages. Câlnic village is known for its castle, which is on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. The castle, first mentioned in 1269, is very well preserved. Built as a noble's residence, it was bought in 1430 by local peasants and fortified. It consists of a large court surrounded by walls and some buildings adjacent to the walls. In the middle of the court there is a large donjon as well as a chapel. The castle differs from most other constructions of this type in that it is not situated on a hilltop but rather in a depression, much lower than the surrounding hills. This position, clearly inconvenient in case of a siege, can be explained by the castle's first function as a residence, not meant as a defensive construction.

This looks like it has adorned the case with the dried epidermis from the coastal wattle I found it on. There are lots of dried layers probably caused by leaf blister sawflies (or along those lines), so maybe the caterpillar nips them off.
Four cases bathed in soft light by an overhead skylight within this gloomy attic space. Shot inside a derelict farm cottage on a recent weekend away. I had had a pin marker for this location for a long time now but didn't think I'd get to see it due to it's location. When my partner booked a B&B for us to stay in, I thought that it looked as though it may be in the area, when I dropped the pin marker onto the same map it turned out to be 4km away... Result!
