Five days ago, 4 confirmed cases of Covid-19 came to my clinic for medical treatment. Therefore, I was quarantined at home for 14 days. Today is the fifth day. Fortunately, my virus test was negative. Take care my friends.

I think it's time for another bird, an oldie showing mistakes I made early and often. It was 11 years ago, and I was just "getting a feel for the SX20, Canon's second Powershot iteration, and 'birding'." And, I was doing fairly well, but when I look back I had a tendency to center my subjects and not leave enough space for a better composition. Oh, I didn't do it all the time, but enough so that today it bothers me that I can't improve on an image like this one. (Just like I used to tell my barber when I had hair ... and a barber ... leave a little on the upper left.)
In this case, I was lucky. I went back to that very spot in 2018, the Old Borges Ranch fam ily home, and sure enough, this tree branch was still a favorite with Juncos and Golden-crowned sparrows. (Mourning Doves, woodpeckers, and raptors stayed clear. Too bad. I'd love to have gotten more of all three.)
Anyway, the head is darker and the chestnut color a bit deeper, but you could swear it was the same bird. And, I left enough room to crop if necessary. Still, after 2015, I started leaving suffcient space in the direction that my subject was looking, and my mistakes are fewer. Fortunately, I did not get into the habit of shooting everything close when in 2014, I bought the SX50 with a tremendous range.
{The dark-eyed junco (Junco hyemalis) is a species of junco, a group of small, grayish New World sparrows. This bird is common across much of temperate North America and in summer ranges far into the Arctic. It is a very variable species, much like the related fox sparrow, and its systematics are still not completely untangled. I don't care what they call it today, it will always be an Oregon Junco, the first bird along with the Black Phoebe, that got be hooked on photographing birds even before I had the focal length.}

Avec son architecture étalée sur plusieurs siècles et mélangeant les styles et son petit air un peu de guingois, cette cathédrale mérite aussi le détour pour ses orgues, comme suspendues en l’air.
Insolite, complexe, éclectique : autant d’adjectifs qui définissent le style de cette cathédrale existant dès le Ve siècle. L'édifice actuel a été construit essentiellement au XIIIe siècle. Cette incroyable construction "inachevée" réunit deux styles gothiques : le gothique méridional massif, puissant et le gothique septentrional élancé, lumineux.
On est séduit par les stalles richement sculptées, le maître-autel baroque, les grilles et l’ensemble des vitraux. Les chapelles décorées de retables, tableaux et reliquaires forment une suite de petits musées.
Impressionnant, le buffet d’orgue début XVIIe, suspendu « en nid d’hirondelle », est le plus ancien de la ville.
C’est ici qu’est enterré Riquet, célèbre concepteur du canal du Midi.
With its architecture spread over several centuries and mixing styles and its somewhat askew air, this cathedral is also worth a detour for its organs, as if suspended in the air.
Unusual, complex, eclectic: so many adjectives that define the style of this cathedral, which dates back to the 5th century. The current building was built mainly in the 13th century. This incredible "unfinished" construction brings together two Gothic styles: the massive, powerful Southern Gothic and the slender, luminous Northern Gothic.
We are seduced by the richly carved stalls, the Baroque high altar, the grilles and all the stained glass windows. The chapels decorated with altarpieces, paintings and reliquaries form a series of small museums.
Impressive, the early 17th century organ case, suspended "in a swallow's nest", is the oldest in the city.
This is where Riquet, the famous designer of the Canal du Midi, is buried.
A photo of a robin I took at Llyn Elsi in Betws-y-Coed. It was a bit interested in us and stayed close in case we had some food. With the branches I think I got quite a nice imge.

The children were excited to find this Case Moth attached to a Gum tree in one of our local parks. The cocoon is made of silk and small sticks.

I’m still chasing Stephen Shore and the transparency and 2D flatness of space.
In this case I forced myself to choose only one angle in which to shoot this station. Now, Stephen Shore was forced by the fact he was using 8x10 color negatives which cost a lot to develop and print. In my case I wanted to follow that rule. And here it is. Thanks
