Nederland, Zuid-Holland, Zwijndrecht, 25-02-2020; Kijfhoek, rangeerterrein voor goederentreinen. Overzicht van de verdeelsporen en railremmen. Kijfhoek huisvest Keyrail, exploitant Betuweroute en is in beheer bij ProRail. De Betuweroute, die begint als Havenspoorlijn op de Maasvlakte, verbindt via Kijfhoek de Rotterdamse haven met het achterland. Het rangeeremplacement dient voor het sorteren van goederenwagons waarbij gebruik gemaakt wordt van de zwaartekracht, het 'heuvelen': de wagons worden de heuvel opgeduwd, bij het de heuvel afrollen komen ze, door middel van wissels, op verschillende verdeelsporen. Railremmen zorgen voor het automatisch remmen van de wagons. Na het heuvelproces staan de nieuw samengestelde treinen op aparte opstelsporen.

Soldiers with Task Force Marauder transported cargo via a sling load with a CH-47 Chinook, Nov. 12, 2017. Task Force Marauder is made up of Soldiers from South Carolina National Guard, Illinois National Guard, Iowa National Guard, as well as active duty component and provides aviation capabilities with AH64 Apaches, UH60 Black Hawks, CH47 Chinooks, and MEDEVAC assets in Afghanistan under the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade while deployed. The tail wings would fold neatly in a double-turn (fold - fold). This was more of an accident than it was a plan. Worked out nicely though...
The American Mariner is currently docked at General Mills in Buffalo, NY, most likely holding out for better weather after its most recent delivery.
Similar to the Manitoulin, which has been stuck about a mile from its drop-off point for several days, this lake freighter makes multiple trips throughout the year to deliver goods to the General Mills manufacturing plant on the Buffalo River.
Lake freighter traffic in Buffalo is much lighter compared to, say, Port Huron in Michigan, so seeing both of these freighters in the past two days has been a real treat.
