A sailboat is an economical and environmentally friendly means of water transportation that can be a single person sporting craft or large enough to transport large cargoes across vast distances. It was originally the primary means of transport wherever long distances over water was involved. Ancient civilizations such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Egyptians, Vikings, British and all seafaring Europeans employed sailing vessels for travel, exploration, cargo transport and war. Long before industrialization and the development of steam or internal combustion engines, sailing vessels had explored every coastline on the planet. Modern societies have adopted its use in recreational water sports and luxury sailing yachts. The exhilaration and freedom of sailing is as close as one can get to flight without the requirement of defeating gravity.

This would have been a far more appropriate time to use my damage absorber and/or my cloak. As it was, I got pounded by the warheads and raked by the green ships' lasers.
The is the first round of an intercept scenario we were playing out to test boarding/docking difficulty under the new rules. My container ship is moving at a speed of 7, while Rich's more nimble ships try to move alongside, matching course and speed.
The pirates have two patrols which rely mainly on their 4 heatseeking missiles - the red and blue Fat Boys - and one patrol armed with 4 long-range lasers. While the container ship's cloak is up, this doesn't mask its heat signature.

We decided to play out an intercept scenario to see how difficult docking/boarding enemy ships was under the current rules. We were reasonably satisfied with the results. The conclusion was that if you plan on boarding an enemy, you'd better be decidedly more nimble and bring the manpower to overwhelm the enemy crew.
