"Nakagin Capsule Tower," built as an innovative and experimental architectural piece (the capules are designed to be replaceable), now stanes as a decrepit monstrosity that generates controversy over its future.

We came across the building purely by chance. It was easy to see the point made by the opponents of its tear-down that it's an architectural landmark. It is definitely very different from anything else around it. But at the same time, the decrepitude was quite obvious--nobody "replaced" the capsules as intended. Apparently most of the capsules are used as office spaces now, although a sign on the entrance door claimed that it was a "manshion" (a term used in Japan to refer to higher-end apartments and condominiums) and not "a capsule hotel."

A hotel or a condo, I wouldn't be thrilled to spend more than a few hours in this building!

Karteko is a workshop(studio) of ecological Design.

I realize furniture and objects with salvaged materials there for 6 years now. By concerns(marigolds) of ecology and also economy, I came there to get back materials and other rubbishes which the bulky waste of cities offered to create our own furniture. After several participations with diverse competition(help, competitions) of creations and of positive returns, I dashed and created this place to make you discover the result(profit) of my work.

The Karteko workshop, proposes a wide choice of realizations stemming from the recovery(recycling). I also propose studios(workshops) for the adults and the children having for theme the creation of cardboard furniture or the transformation(processing) of materials found in your everyday life(daily paper).

Named by the planetary-explorer who originally found one on the planet Yar; no one knows exactly where these vessels originated from. Only one, if any others do exist, are seen at a given time, yet there is always someone different inside.

Functioning as a type of self sustaining prison, the victims of the machines wake up inside not knowing how they became trapped inside the capsule. A way to enter or exit these machines has not been discovered at this time, and no Ancient Records have been found that correspond with the device. No one is quite sure how long a victim lives inside the vessel, or what happens to the victim once they pass, but it's theorized a nutrient rich atmosphere in the machine can keep a person alive for many years, sentenced to float through the outer most reaches of space, having no control over the destination, or their sanity.

They have been encountered in various "black-space" areas where few beings are willing to travel, and also observed flying low over pedestrian walkways in major space ports and planetary cities. The prisoner trapped inside, silently screaming, while the populous below is unable to help them or stop the vessel.

My wife and I went to the Terrace Theatre on our first date way back in 1988 when we were still in school. I had never noticed this time capsule before. I would love to know what is in there...

I have my doubts that it will make it until 2067. The theatre is abandoned now and is in disrepair.

Blossom, seed capsule, seeds and leaf of Thunbergia alata, a strong growing vine. It is an annual in Indiana but may be invasive in our Southern State and other countries with a warm climate. The leaves have a rather repugnant odor, but the blossoms and interesting seed capsules make up for that :) The capsule bursts when it is dry and the temperature and humidity are just right - then, the campsule bursts, casting the seeds as far as 10 feet away.

Stitched panorama from 47 source images, rendered in an equirectangular projection. Quite a few extra images were needed as this is one of the main foot-traffic junctions, and lots of people move through here. Philopod enabled me to return to the same spot repeatedly to get the shots needed.

The Soyuz TMA-03M capsule suspended from its parachute before landing on Sunday 1 July 2012. Inside are astronauts Don Pettit, Oleg Kononenko and ESA astronaut André Kuipers.

They landed at 08:14 GMT in the steppes of Kazakhstan after 193 days in space. André conducted many scientific experiments during his six-month PromISSe mission on the International Space Station.

In addition to his scientific workload, André carried out maintenance and operational tasks. Highlights included receiving ESA’s Automated Transfer Vehicle Edoardo Amaldi cargo ferry and docking the first commercial spacecraft, Dragon.
