Le cap Taillat, aussi appelé cap Cartaya est un cap français situé dans le département du Var, au sud de la presqu'île de Saint-Tropez. Il marque la limite entre les communes de Ramatuelle et de la Croix-Valmer.

People who know more than I do about snowflakes say that these capped columns are the beginnings of the fabulous large dendrite snowflakes that everyone likes. Whenever I see these that's all that I see. For about an hour these or clumps of these were all that was falling. These four are fairly representative of what I was seeing. For the most part I rarely bother to try to take pictures of them anymore. By the way, these are small - 1mm or less in size.

The National Coal Board spared no expense whilst capping the open shafts on Bakestonedale Moor, Pott Shrigley during the 1980s. The indentation once held a sign stating "Danger Old Shaft, Keep Out".

Eagle Cap Wilderness. Ok photogogs. I shot into the sun and even giving extra exposure the shot sucked. So I pushed photoshop. Pumped up the sharpness and gave it all the noise reduction I could. Not really photographic as I usually see photos but in it's own way an interesting outcome. Seen large the strangeness is most apparent.

Say hello to my little friend. The Black-capped Chickadee. (Scientific name: Poecile atricapillus)

Did you know?

• The Black-capped Chickadee is a frequent visitor to bird feeders.

• They can remember where they hide food for at least a month after putting it in its hiding place.

• To keep warm the chickadee erects its soft, thick feathers to trap warm air close to its body. This serves as good insulation against the cold.

• When breeding season begins, the tiny brains of chickadees and other songbirds enlarge to enable the birds to create more sounds.

Rufous-capped Warbler photographed in Florida Canyon near Green Valley, AZ on 24 January 2018.

The Black-Capped Chickadee is one of our more common birds, especially now that most of the migratory birds have left. Took this this morning.

You have to get used to hot feet when you choose to live on the largest salt pan in Africa. The Capped Wheatear inhabits the vast, shimmering 4800 square kilometres of the Etosha Pan, with not a tree in sight.
