This Spotted Hyena (aka Laughing Hyena) is making off with a very identifiable corpse of a Wildebeest. Hyena are capable hunters and even more capable of stealing prey from other carnivores. They will call in their numbers, usually run off the predator that did the hard work of making the kill, then fight amongst themselves for the pickings. I very much doubt that this guy will get to enjoy all of what it is running off with as it will be too much to defend against other hyena. But that’s it’s hope as it takes off with the prize. The dragonfly

It's easy to be fascinated by dragonflies. They were among the very first winged insects to evolve over 300 million years ago! Dragonflies belong to the order Odonata, characterized by large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong, transparent wings, and an elongated body. Dragonflies are similar to damselflies, but adults hold their wings away from, and perpendicular to the body when at rest. Their two sets of wings work independently, allowing dragonflies to maneuver through the air effortlessly. Their huge eyes give them incredible vision in almost every directions except directly behind them.

Many people ask, "What do dragonflies eat?" As adults, dragonflies eat other insects and can consume hundreds of mosquitoes in one day! typically eat mosquitoes and other small insects. They are valued as predators, since they help control populations of harmful insects. Dragonflies are usually found around lakes, ponds, streams and wetlands because their larvae, known as "nymphs", are aquatic. Adult dragonflies do not bite or sting humans, though nymphs are capable of delivering a painful but harmless bite.

The common Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius), or hippo, is a large, mostly herbivorous, semiaquatic mammal and ungulate native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is one of only two extant species in the family Hippopotamidae, the other being the pygmy hippopotamus. The name comes from the ancient Greek for "river horse". After the elephant and rhinoceros, the common hippopotamus is the third-largest type of land mammal and the heaviest extant artiodactyl.

Common hippos are recognisable by their barrel-shaped torsos, wide-opening mouths revealing large canine tusks, nearly hairless bodies, columnar legs and large size. Despite its stocky shape and short legs, it is capable of running 30 km/h over short distances.

The common hippopotamus inhabits rivers, lakes and mangrove swamps, where territorial bulls preside over a stretch of river and groups of five to thirty females and young. During the day, they remain cool by staying in the water or mud; reproduction and childbirth both occur in water. They emerge at dusk to graze on grasses. While hippopotamuses rest near each other in the water, grazing is a solitary activity and hippos are not territorial on land.

The hippopotamus is among the most dangerous animals in the world as it is highly aggressive and unpredictable. They are threatened by habitat loss and poaching for their meat and ivory canine teeth.

These two massive male Hippo's were photographed settling their differences in the good old fashioned way in the Hyena dam at Nairobi National Park, Kenya.

The North American Mustang was designed in 1940 in response to a British requirement for a new fighter aircraft. From the start the Mustang proved extremely capable, although had limited performance at high altitudes - the Allison engine was designed for low altitude performance. At a suggestion from the Rolls Royce flight test department, a Mustang was modified to take a Spitfire type Merlin engine, and this transformed the high altitude performance of the Mustang. Thereafter, Mustangs were fitted with Merlin engines, license built in the US by Packard. Mustangs were noted for their much greater ranger than earlier fighter aircraft; a 'D' model Mustang had a range of about 880 miles, compared to about 250 of early model Spitfires - Mustangs could thus accompany USAAF bombers from England all the way to the target areas and back.

The aircraft in the picture has been modified as a 2-seat trainer - the canopy is slightly longer than that on the single seat version.

"It's like a whole orchestra, the piano for me." Dave Brubeck. "I believe in using the entire piano as a single instrument capable of expressing every possible musical idea." Oscar Peterson ( and "yes" I love Jazz : )

Hi Everyone!

I have been in China speaking at a Women's Conference, wow, God did amazing things and He still is! It is good to be back home! I have missed you all and your masterpieces!

I wanted to tell you a bit about this piano pictured that now resides in my living room. For years I had prayed that one day I would have a baby grand piano. Over the years my neighbors across the street and I would spend time together chatting & I would take them treats etc. Both of them being in their 90's have now passed away. I never mentioned to them anything about their baby grand piano. When they passed away their daughter came to me and said that she wanted me to have their piano if I wanted it because she knew how much I loved and cared for her parents. As you can imagine, I was in tears. Wow! After all these years! Their daughter knows that I like "shabby chic" so she even painted it that way for me. It looks awesome! The Piano is actually white and distressed, but the lampshade and light gave it the color you see.

Here is a bit about this hand built Sohmer Piano:

Sohmer & Company was founded in New York City by German inventor and immigrant, Hugo Sohmer in 1872. During its many years in New York, the Sohmer piano was considered one of the finest made in America and at one time was even sold in Steinway Hall side by side with Steinway. Today's modern baby grand was invented and patented by Hugo Sohmer in 1884.

It's perfect symmetry of form and exceptional tonal quality is due to its scientific scale and integrally cast C'Apo D'Astro bar, another patented feature. Sohmer piano design includes ornate hand carvings that present an old-world touch of elegance in a unique cabinetry.

God's gifts are far from "shabby" : )

Hope your week is going well!

Sparrowhawk - Accipiter Nisus

Though it is a predator which specialises in catching woodland birds, the Eurasian sparrowhawk can be found in any habitat and often hunts garden birds in towns and cities. Males tend to take smaller birds, including tits, finches, and sparrows; females catch primarily thrushes and starlings, but are capable of killing birds weighing 500 g (18 oz) or more.

The Eurasian sparrowhawk is found throughout the temperate and subtropical parts of the Old World; while birds from the northern parts of the range migrate south for winter, their southern counterparts remain resident or make dispersive movements. Eurasian sparrowhawks breed in suitable woodland of any type, with the nest, measuring up to 60 cm (2.0 ft) across, built using twigs in a tree. Four or five pale blue, brown-spotted eggs are laid; the success of the breeding attempt is dependent on the female maintaining a high weight while the male brings her food. The chicks hatch after 33 days and fledge after 24 to 28 days.

The probability of a juvenile surviving its first year is 34%, with 69% of adults surviving from one year to the next. Mortality in young males is greater than that of young females and the typical lifespan is four years. This species is now one of the most common birds of prey in Europe, although the population crashed after the Second World War. Organochlorine insecticides used to treat seeds before sowing built up in the bird population, and the concentrations in Eurasian sparrowhawks were enough to kill some outright and incapacitate others; affected birds laid eggs with fragile shells which broke during incubation. However, its population recovered after the chemicals were banned, and it is now relatively common, classified as being of Least Concern by BirdLife International.

The Eurasian sparrowhawk's hunting behaviour has brought it into conflict with humans for hundreds of years, particularly racing pigeon owners and people rearing poultry and gamebirds. It has also been blamed for decreases in passerine populations. The increase in population of the Eurasian Sparrowhawk coincides with the decline in House Sparrows in Britain. Studies of racing pigeon deaths found that Eurasian sparrowhawks were responsible for less than 1%. Falconers have utilised the Eurasian sparrowhawk since at least the 16th century; although the species has a reputation for being difficult to train, it is also praised for its courage. The species features in Teutonic mythology and is mentioned in works by writers including William Shakespeare, Alfred, Lord Tennyson and Ted Hughes.

Male Eurasian sparrowhawks regularly kill birds weighing up to 40 g (1.4 oz) and sometimes up to 120 g (4.2 oz); females can tackle prey up to 500 g (18 oz) or more. The weight of food consumed by adult birds daily is estimated to be 40–50 g (1.4–1.8 oz) for males and 50–70 g (1.8–2.5 oz) for females. During one year, a pair of Eurasian sparrowhawks could take 2,200 house sparrows, 600 common blackbirds or 110 wood pigeons. Species that feed in the open, far from cover, or are conspicuous by their behaviour or coloration, are taken more often by Eurasian sparrowhawks. For example, great tits and house sparrows are vulnerable to attack. Eurasian sparrowhawks may account for more than 50% of deaths in certain species, but the extent varies from area to area.

Males tend to take tits, finches, sparrows and buntings; females often take thrushes and starlings. Larger quarry (such as doves and magpies) may not die immediately but succumb during feather plucking and eating. More than 120 bird species have been recorded as prey and individual Eurasian sparrowhawks may specialise in certain prey. The birds taken are usually adults or fledglings, though chicks in the nest and carrion are sometimes eaten. Small mammals, including bats, are sometimes caught but insects are eaten only very rarely.

A few months ago, on one of my occasional weekend space-trips, I had picked up a magic lens that was capable of time-travel and simultaneous thematic image capture across multiple time-windows ;-) Since then this magic lens has received multiple automatic software-upgrades transmitted via the medium of sun-rays ;-) It seems to me that the upgraded lens has now begun to exhibit early signs of appreciating human speech and emotions :-O This realization dawned on me during my recent stay in Pondicherry (Paris of the East).

One evening in Pondicherry I had set up my camera with the magic lens, on a tripod, near the old pier hoping to capture a few interesting blue-hour photos. Out of the blue, an old friend of mine, who I had not met for a while, spotted me there on his evening walk. Soon we were totally engrossed in a deep conversation about one of our favorite subjects - visual arts - and dwelt quite a bit on the first fully painted animated feature film Loving Vincent. After my friend departed I turned to my camera to discover that (and this is a bit of a guesswork on my part) - the magic lens had felt badly neglected and utterly bored during the time I was talking to my friend :-( and since I had left the camera switched on, the magic lens had decided to make a definitive point to me by clicking, on its own, a bunch of 'art-like' photos ( à la Vincent van Gogh paintings) >:-{

By the time I got back to the camera, I was left with a completely drained camera battery and a whole lot of art-like photos taken by the magic lens! This is one of the better ones, in my opinion, from that lot. Hope you all like it :-)

Happy Slider Sunday!

"The human being never knows what he is capable of until he tries it." Charles Dickens.

After the show that the fog gave me, it seemed that the sunrise had little to offer me. The sun did not dare to rise and the clouds presaged more rain than clarity. The minutes passed and I started to think about leaving without the photo that I was looking for. Maybe next time...

In a few seconds everything changed and the sun filtered through the clouds. A divine light appeared projected on the landscape. I took several bracketed shots (7 exposures) and this blending of 4 of them is the result of an unforgettable moment.

Next time that common sense tells you to desist, perhaps it is better you do the opposite (at least if you want to take haunting pictures).

I hope everybody has a fab Weekend.:)

One of my favorite things about Thanksgiving is the leftovers. In this case, the feast is visual. My Mom deserves recognition as a good sport because we left her house at 2:30 a.m. to drive to Yosemite and see the morning unfold at Tunnel View. She had never seen Yosemite in the winter. Luck was with us as it snowed two days earlier and was cold enough to stick. After Tunnel View we went into the valley for a nice walk and to see more beautiful sites. We very much preferred our "White Friday" to the chaos of a shopper's Black Friday. If you ever get the chance to see Yosemite in winter, don't miss it. While some of the park was closed due to road conditions, visitation was minimal making the experience quite pleasant.

By the way, I can't believe what phones can do these days. I did bring my DSLR and captured some great scenes and memories, but it's amazing how capable the camera phones are.

Woodbridge Tide Mill is a rare example of a tide mill whose water wheel still turns and is capable of grinding a wholemeal flour. The mill is a Grade I listed building. It is a three-storey building constructed from wood; externally it is clad in white Suffolk boarding and has a Gambrel roof. Its machinery reflects the skills and achievements of the early Industrial Revolution. It has been preserved and is open to the public. The reservoir constructed for demonstration purposes is roughly half an acre in extent, the original 7-acre (28,000 m2) one is now a marina.

The first recording of a tide mill on this site was a medieval mill in 1170; it is unknown how many mills have stood here, but probably three. The mill, which was operated by the local Augustinian priory in the Middle Ages, was acquired by Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536. It is possible that the Augustinians rebuilt the mill shortly before the dissolution. This mill and the former Woodbridge Priory was granted to Thomas Seckford by Elizabeth I. That mill passed through the hands of various private owners until it was rebuilt in the seventeenth century. This is the mill preserved today.

By the outbreak of World War II the mill was one of only a handful still operating. In 1957 it closed as the last commercially operating tide mill in Britain. In 1968 the derelict mill was purchased by Mrs Jean Gardner and a restoration programme was launched. It was opened to the public five years later in 1973. It is now managed by a charitable trust (Woodbridge Tide Mill Trust) staffed by volunteers, and in 2011 the trust undertook a further and more complete restoration and modernisation project, including a new water wheel and fully restored machinery, which allowed milling to begin again. It re-opened in 2012 and is now the only tide mill in the UK that can regularly grind wheat grain producing wholemeal flour for resale.

🎶 Vaughan Williams - A Sea Symphony - Oramo

The relationship between men and ocean waves is as ancient and complex as the sea itself. At times, the ocean's might presents an awe-inspiring challenge, while at others, its waves are a source of primal exhilaration. This duality mirrors the human experience—we are both vulnerable amidst nature's forces and remarkably capable in harnessing them.

For seafarers aboard powerful ships, the vast force held within a single wave can be terrifyingly real. In a perfect storm, relentless waves become monstrous leviathans from the deep. They toss even the largest vessels like mere toys, threatening to capsize them or shatter them against hidden reefs. Stories of sailors battling the elements are woven into our maritime history, tales of courage and despair echoing against the relentless crash of the sea.

These very same waves hold an irresistible allure for the most daring among us. Surfers embody the other side of the men-versus-ocean story – not one of fear, but of thrilling defiance. Where the ship captain sees a wall of destruction, the surfer sees a fleeting opportunity. They dance with nature's fury, riding the crests of waves on fragile boards. In this act, they embrace the chaos of the ocean's power, finding a strange harmony amid the maelstrom.

The ocean reminds us that humanity, despite its technology and ambition, remains subject to the raw forces of nature. The captain and the surfer, though inhabiting seemingly opposite ends of the spectrum, are both engaged with the ocean's majesty. In their respective ways, men find both challenge and exhilarating freedom in the dynamic energy of the waves. There's a humbling power in witnessing – or even attempting to conquer – the sheer, untamable wildness of the sea.

1931 Cadillac Model 452 (for the total cubic inches) Fleetwood Convertible Coupe. This beauty was one of only 4 of these built in 1931, and the first of this model that year.

“Magically smooth, uncommonly capable, quiet, powerful,” was how Cadillac described their V16 engine in 1931, and they were spot on. Towards the end of the roaring 20’s, Cadillac was striving for ways to make effortless power, matched with unparalleled luxury. While the V16 was announced after the Wall Street Crash of 1929, the release of the new Cadillac was extremely well received and nearly 3000 examples were built in the first year of production.

Released in 1930, Cadillac became the first American car manufacturer to introduce a production car with a V16 motor. In the early 1930s prestigious American car manufacturers were in a tight battle of “cylinder wars.” The likes of Packard, Franklin, Lincoln, Auburn, and Pierce Arrow all had created 12-cylinder cars by 1932. Marmon, a Cadillac competitor, thought about the idea of creating a 16-cylinder car in the late 1920s before Cadillac, but were unable to do so due to the lack of resources.

At a time when a custom coach-built body was a symbol of status and wealth, the V16 became the one of the most revered chassis. Cadillac wanted the engine to be as vibration-free as possible, and eight combustion cycles per crankshaft revolution combined with balanced internals meant that a V16 was one of the best available packages.

As early as 1926, Ex-Marmon engineer Owen Nacker designed the V16 from two straight-8 Buick units that shared a common crankcase and crankshaft. Each bank was independently operated and only shared a common, center mounted camshaft which operated the valves with pushrods. The 45 degree angle between the banks was unusually narrow to fit inside the chassis. It was named after its 452 inch cubic displacement and produced 185 bhp which was good for 100 mph. It also used a unique hydraulic valve silencing system that reduced noise and was a novel feature in its day.

Cadillac general manager Lawrence Fisher and GM’s stylist Harley Earl were largely responsible for the V16s styling. Most of the cars were bodied by Fleetwood in Pennsylvania which was later purchased and moved to Michigan by GM to keep business in-house. The customer could choose between 70 or so available bodies that were elaborately finished and all highly individualized in detail. If that wasn’t enough, Cadillac could also provide a bare chassis to be fitted by the independent styling house of the customer’s choice.

Despite difficult times, and a price tag higher than any previous Cadillac, the V16 was ordered in huge numbers throughout 1930. GM paraded six cars for European tour and the cars received acclaim by both the press and public. Production reached 2000 examples by June, but by the end of the year, the economic depression nearly halted sales.

During an eleven year production, 4076 V16s were constructed in several series.

After the initial flourish in 1930, production grinded away for ten years with only fifty units made per year. Later, Cadillac reverted to their V12 unit but only after the V16 had made its lasting mark. In the end, Cadillac lost money on every car sold, but it was worth the cost of propelling the marque as a whole. It was estimated the V16 cost Cadillac 54 million dollars.

The northern goshawk is capable of considerable, sustained, horizontal speed in pursuit of prey with speeds of 38 mph (61 km/h) reported. ... Kills are normally consumed on the ground by juvenile or non-breeding goshawks (more rarely an elevated perch or old nest) or taken to a low perch by breeding goshawks.

Not only is the pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) the largest bird capable of a true hover in still air, it is also the only kingfisher with all black and white plumage. This distinctive bird has white-spotted, black upperparts and white underparts, with a broad band of black streaks on the upper-breast and a narrow black bar below. There is a prominent white eyebrow and a black eyeband that stretches to the back of the neck, as well as a white throat and collar and a white patch on the wing-coverts. The rump is barred black and white, the iris is brown and the weak, fleshy, feet and legs are black. The male pied kingfisher is distinguished from the female by the presence of two full breast bands, with the female having just a single incomplete band.

This Pied Kingfisher was photographed on a boat ride just as it had caught its prey of a tiny fish from the waters of Lake Baringo, Kenya.

Agkistrodon piscivorus is a venomous snake, a species of pit viper, found in thesoutheastern United States. Adults are large and capable of delivering a painful and potentially fatal bite. When threatened, they may respond by coiling their bodies and displaying their fangs.[3] Although their aggression has been exaggerated, individuals may bite when feeling threatened or being handled.[4] This is the world's only semiaquatic viper, usually found in or near water, particularly in slow-moving and shallow lakes, streams, and marshes. The snake is a strong swimmer and has even been seen swimming in the ocean. However, it is not fully marine, unlike true sea snakes. It has successfully colonized islands off both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts.

Tokay gecko fights for life with a golden tree snake. Golden tree snakes are very common throughout Thailand. They may extend their ribs and move their stomach so as to give their body a more wide and concave shape. For this reason they are capable of gliding flight from trees. They're slightly venomous (not dangerous for humans). Natives say that they introduce their head into the gecko's body to eat its liver, but, of course, this is just a legend.

Last night I dreamt that I had died.

But I could see, or rather feel,

what was going on around me.

...

I felt I had no strength or will,

I was only capable of witnessing

my own death, my own corpse.

Above all, I could feel in my dream

something long forgotten, something

that had not happened to me for a long time -

the feeling that it was not a dream but real.

It is such a powerful sensation

that a wave of sadness fills your soul,

of pity for yourself, and a strange,

as it were aesthetic way of seeing your own life.

When you feel compassion for yourself in that way,

it is as if your pain were someone else's.

and you are looking at it from outside,

weighing it up, and you are beyond

the bounds of what used to be your life.

It was as if my past life was a child's life,

without experience, unprotected.

Time ceases to exist, and fear.

View On Black

Razorbills are primarily black with a white underside. The male and female are identical in plumage; however, males are generally larger than females. This agile bird, which is capable of both flight and diving, has a predominantly aquatic lifestyle and only comes to land in order to breed.

It is monogamous, choosing one partner for life. Females lay one egg per year. Razorbills nest along coastal cliffs in enclosed or slightly exposed crevices. The parents spend equal amounts of time incubating, and once the chick has hatched, they take turns foraging for their young.

The razorbill has a white belly and a black head, neck, back, and feet during the breeding season. A thin white line also extends from the eyes to the end of the bill. Its head is darker than that of a common murre. During the non-breeding season, the throat and face behind the eye become white, and the white line on the face and bill becomes less prominent.

The bill is black, deep and laterally compressed, with a blunt end. It has several vertical grooves or furrows near the curved tip, one of them adorned with a white, broken vertical line. The bill is thinner and the grooves are less marked during the non-breeding season. It is a large and thick-set bird, for an alcid, and its mean weight ranges from 505 to 890 g (17+3⁄4 to 31+1⁄2 oz).

The female and male adults are very much alike, having only small differences such as wing length. It is 37–39 cm in body length, the wing length of adult males ranges from 201–216 mm (7+15⁄16–8+1⁄2 in) while that of females ranges from 201 to 213 mm (7+15⁄16 to 8+3⁄8 in).

During incubation, this species has a horizontal stance and the tail feathers are slightly longer in the center in comparison to other alcids. This makes the razorbill have a distinctly long tail which is not common for an auk. In-flight, the feet do not protrude beyond the tail.

Their mating system is female-enforced monogamy; the razorbill pairs for life. It nests in open or hidden crevices among cliffs and boulders. It is a colonial breeder and only comes to land to breed. The annual survival rate of the razorbill is between 89 and 95%. Though the razorbill's average lifespan is roughly 13 years, a bird ringed in the UK in 1967 survived for at least 41 years—a record for the species.

This image was taken in the Marina at Gibraltar. I was quite surprised to see a Razorbill here.

About a half hour before sunrise, 13,000 foot train 121 climbs the grade out of Moncton, approaching Berry Mills, heading for their next crew change point at Edmundston. There’s not much to the shot, but I do kind of like how the train lights up a small portion of the shot. This wouldn’t have been capable with my other camera.

We were watching lions mating, when this special moment adds that “X-factor” to an ordinary image. Lions are capable of mating up to 40 times (almost every 20 minutes) daily. (KrugerNational Park, RSA).

I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Many thanks to everyone who chooses to leave a comment or add this image to their favorites, it is much appreciated.

Sometimes small stations on secondary lines are capable to tell incredible stories...

Avigliano is a small village not far from Potenza in southern Italy and, despite its small dimensions, is served by two different stations and two independent networks.

Avigliano Città (Downtown station) is the terminating station of the short, metric line from Potenza belonging to the Ferrovie Appullo Lucane (FAL).

Avigliano Scalo, the one depicted in my picture, is located several miles far from the town and is served by both RFI and FAL with a dual gauge station serving the Potenza-Foggia, the Potenza-Avigliano and the Potenza-Genzano (Bari) lines.

However, the distance from the town center make this a desert station with very few passengers stopping or departing.

However, the most interesting aspect of Avigliano Scalo is the single, dual gauge track that leaves the station on the southern side running toward Potenza and serving both networks and lines.

As you can imagine, sometimes, this merging in causing busy times in the stations.

Here a Trenitalia Aln668 running in moderate delay from Potenza to Foggia forced the ATR220 running in the opposite direction to lose its "slot" and to wait the arrival of a FAL train from Potenza running toward Avigliano Città.

At the end the ATR220, arrived on time in Avigliano, left towards Potenza 40' late!

Built for the Burgomeister "Armored Limousine" category of DA4, supporting General Farok. Main image meets the A&B criteria of a motorcade with two additional vehicles.

The "secret weapon" of this pimped out limo-tank is its hard rockin' stereo system that doubles as a sonic weapon. When it's not being used as a P.A. system to address the nation, or to play the dulcet tones of Ronnie James Dio, it is capable of incapacitating any would-be pursuers through its expansive frequency range. It is concealed by the rear trunk tailgate when not in use.

Another noticeable feature is its rooftop mounted drone, which can be deployed to scout the route ahead.

The TG-17 is a futuristic inter-atmospherical attack shuttle. Capable of speeds nearly 5,600 kilometers per hour, this ship is well-equipped to serve in both gravity and non-gravity venues.

The dual cockpit is armed with two Xeon 532-D cannons, while the fuselage is protected by twin AED (automatic electric detection) lasers, capable of firepower equivalent to that of six .50 caliber machine guns.

The craft can be loaded with an additional payload for special missions or for attack mode.

Too late for SHIPtember... I know. With this MOC, I really wanted to up my quality of building and photography as much as possible. Hopefully I accomplished something like that with this ship. Not sure what MOC will be next...

Lots of stuff has been happening in life recently. I am just grateful to come here once in a while and share some creativity with this wonderful community.

A basic demon capable of being summoned and bound to the world of reality at will by any Agent. Equipped with a heavy axe-and-blade combination and wings of fire.

A quick combination model of Skull Grinder and Ikir. I obtained both models earlier today in a meet up with Evan (Maethorneth). Might upload some of our shenanigans later, but for now enjoy this quick little MOC!

Peace out. See you later!

Working with my new vintage lens. So happy to find out what is's capable of! Lot's of bokeh and beautiful sunflare!

wiser and capable of better judgment when we are asleep than when we are awake :-)

🇬🇧 As heavy as they are on land, they are equally at ease in water. When the water is deep, they can actually swim. Taciturn and territorial, the hippopotamus is said to claim several hundred human victims a year when attacked in the water. The hippopotamus is by far the most dangerous herbivore. Territorial, it defends its territory at all costs. The amphibious hippopotamus measures between 2.70 m and 4.50 m - 5 m plus in length (including a tail of around fifty cm) - with a height of 1.50 m at the withers and a weight of 1.4 to 3 tonnes.Adults have no predators other than humans. The young, on the other hand, are preyed upon by lions, hyenas and crocodiles. The pygmy hippopotamus is preyed upon by leopards, Seba pythons and crocodiles.

I. Love. This. Doll. Beautiful articulation and capable of way more model-like poses. Gorgeous face and hair. And the fahion is perfection. Elyse stole it from Roxy.

So glad I ordered her!
