And, how did I get to nearly 70 without knowing that a canvass bag wasn't named for the single-S material?
Be that all as it might. Yep. Funniest gig for sure but not funny haha, absolutely not. No great surprises about human nature. Of the roughly one-in-ten of the houses visted at which the door was answered there was a cross-section of personalities and attitudes that I'd venture is typical of the population as a whole.. But what an insight into the human condition. First, and in general, people don't answer their doors anymore - and yes I know you were in! Also yes I get it; it's the world we live in. But in some of the encounters I did have ... the only word is "heartbreaking". Clearly I can't spill any specific beans, but mental health issues, squalor, and irresponsible parenting all feature in the mix. And more besides.
And that's not even discussing the pure a-holes.
