When I heard that PORU went up the Rumford Branch Thursday night with a pair of high hoods on each end, and the forecast for Friday morning showing sunny skies, it was an easy choice to forgo sleep after getting out of work that morning. MEC 377 leads the 516 and the 371 with thirty cars as they trundle along through the fields in Canton, with the early morning sun casting some very nice light as they roll towards Rileys. The portion of the line between Rileys and Rumford is somewhat undercovered in comparison to the rest of the line, mainly due to the nocturnal schedule of the jobs, but with the sun rising so early, and so far north this time of the year, it's ideal for RUPO, which generally leaves Rumford around 5 AM.
