San Rafael de la Laguna, parroquia rural del cantón Otavalo, situada a 7,5 km. de la cabecera cantonal, con un rango altitudinal de 2680 – 4080 msnm. Por su ubicación, se encuentra dentro de la cuenca hidrográfica de la laguna de San Pablo. Fue creada el 7 de junio de 1884. Sus paisajes son hermosos y atraen a propios y extraños. Los pobladores se dedican a la agricultura y crianza de animales menores. Se destacan como artesanos en la confección de adornos y esteras con fibras de totora.
Sus principales festividades culturales son: El Coraza, Los Pendoneros, Hatun Kuraka Raymi, Runa Kay Cachiviro, Rama de Gallos, Ñawi Maillay. Visitar esta parroquia es adentrarse en las costumbres de un pueblo hospitalario, de gente trabajadora de los Andes Ecuatorianos.

Yvoire (en francoprovenzal Ivouère) es una comuna y población de Francia, en la región de Auvernia-Ródano-Alpes, departamento de Alta Saboya, en el distrito de Thonon-les-Bains y cantón de Douvaine.
Está integrada en la Communauté de communes du Bas-Chablais.
Se trata de una villa medieval fortificada que se encuentra a orillas del lago Léman, en el extremo norte del cabo situado al oeste del golfo de Coudrée. La creación del señorío de Yvoire se produjo en el siglo XII, si bien las fortificaciones son del siglo XIV, erigidas por orden de Amadeo V de Saboya. En la actualidad es un destino turístico, incluido en las rutas de navegación del lago Léman, y que ha recibido distinciones tales como las cuatro flores de villa turística o la dedicación en 2006 de un sello por el servicio de correos francés.
Por su belleza y atractivo turístico es uno de los pueblos clasificados como Les plus beaux villages de France.
Yvoire (in Franco-Provençal Ivouère) is a commune and town in France, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Haute-Savoie department, in the district of Thonon-les-Bains and canton of Douvaine.
It is part of the Communauté de communes du Bas-Chablais.
It is a medieval fortified town located on the shores of Lake Geneva, at the northern end of the cape located west of the Gulf of Coudrée. The creation of the lordship of Yvoire took place in the 12th century, although the fortifications are from the 14th century, erected by order of Amadeo V of Savoy. Today it is a tourist destination, included in the navigation routes of Lake Geneva, and has received distinctions such as the four flowers of a tourist town or the dedication in 2006 of a stamp by the French postal service.
Due to its beauty and tourist appeal, it is one of the towns classified as Les plus beaux villages de France.

El Cotacachi (Cutacachi o Mama Cutacachi en quichua o kichwa) es un volcán que se encuentra ubicado en la provincia de Imbabura, cantón Cotacachi, en Ecuador. Alcanza una elevación de 4944 m s. n. m. Al noreste del volcán se encuentra la ciudad de Cotacachi y al sureste, la laguna de Cuicocha.
El volcán Cotacachi estuvo activo hace 3000 o 2000 años, pero se dice que su cráter colapsó hacia adentro o implosionó y formó la laguna de Cuicocha con la nieve derretida. Otra erupción más pequeña formó los islotes. Frente a la laguna se puede apreciar el imponente cerro Cotacachi, de cuyo deshielo se alimenta Cuicocha.
A pocos kilómetros al norte de la caldera volcánica está Cuicocha con el que forma una misma unidad geológica. Este volcán presentó actividad durante el Pleistoceno, período en el cual se extinguió para dar paso a la actividad del volcán Cuicocha. Inf. Wikipedia.

A scene that is on borrowed time. A daily routine of BLU T31 pulling 'the bottom' which is the track of outbound cars from the paper mill in Canton, NC is coming to a close due to the mill announcing it is curtailing its operations in early June 2023. A scene that used to happen everyday now will be history in the coming months.

When I heard that PORU went up the Rumford Branch Thursday night with a pair of high hoods on each end, and the forecast for Friday morning showing sunny skies, it was an easy choice to forgo sleep after getting out of work that morning. MEC 377 leads the 516 and the 371 with thirty cars as they trundle along through the fields in Canton, with the early morning sun casting some very nice light as they roll towards Rileys. The portion of the line between Rileys and Rumford is somewhat undercovered in comparison to the rest of the line, mainly due to the nocturnal schedule of the jobs, but with the sun rising so early, and so far north this time of the year, it's ideal for RUPO, which generally leaves Rumford around 5 AM.
