Milepost 454 on the old L&N 'Hook & Eye Line' stands in Canton, GA in an industrial part of town that is now being gentrified into breweries, shops and businesses. This short stretch of mainline has lost some of its character however the overall progress is good for the railroad and the towns local economy.
Georgia Northeastern Railroad's Tate - Marietta southbound ease through town with 3 engines and 16 cars.

The Story: The Canton Railroad at work. The decision to travel to the Charm City to see Canton Railroads newest switcher was well worth it, even if it has a somewhat, umm, unique design.

As one of the most scenic areas of Switzerland; the Lauterbrunnen Valley can be found within the canton of Bern. The name of this beautiful natural paradise translates to "many fountains"; and it was named as such because it boasts a total of 72 wonderful waterfalls.

The image was edited on an iPad mini using the Snap Seed application: full frame scan of entire negative area without trimming.

The Georgia Northeastern road train heads south through Canton. What makes this run unique is that the 8705 has returned from Blue Ridge after 3 years. 3-26-20
