Been a dream for a few years to photograph Western Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) for some years on the ground, and had not succeeded so far. Finally I did it. This shot was taken with the 15mm Zeiss Milvus 2.8/15 ZE. Happy Days.

As I get better at editing my photos, I like to go back to some of the older images, that I think I can finally do some justice to and rework them.

Was able to photograph a couple beautiful models at the Neon Museum, downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.

I bought this back in about 1964 with my paper route money. My brother and his wife found it recently when they were packing to move into a new home. Apparently my brother rescued it when my parents were moving in distress after I had left home.

Toy Story was a great movie. Even all these years it stands the test of time. The Pizza Planet truck was a great truck. This beat up yellow Toyota was almost a character on its own. I think Hot Wheels did a great job recreating it.

February 2020, Photo Tour to Kuusamo, Finland - image 18:

Photographed this female Grey-headed Woodpecker (Picus canus) in Kuusamo. I got a pair in the backyard as well, down here in the

south of Finland. During the winter they are eating at the feeder and during the summer you can see them digging into the ant nests (got a few in the backyard as well). I had not seen the pair for weeks. Forced to work from home, I sat by the window looking at the feeder... They are back!

A triple exposure. Same position in the forest as with the previous upload. As mentioned the hole in the old alder can be seen through other alders. The peak hole is amazing. Focused on 3 different trees and combined the three RAW files in Photoshop.

Background story:

For three years I have been having Grey-headed Woodpeckers (Picus canus) at my feeder during the winter. For the last 2 summers I have also tried to find their nest. Without success. It is of course not a super common bird species in Finland, so should in practice be happy just to see and photograph them... and I am.

However, a week or three ago I did see them going crazy on an old tree and I was just hoping... “what if...” Been back a few times and I often see the male in the hole... and what an angle. Perfect view through a few majestic old alder trees... Happy Days!

This image was captured several weeks ago down at Goat Island near Ardmore in County Waterford, Ireland.

Was glad to be back out under the stars and the night sky again. Last Milky Way shoot was back on March 29th 2020.

Although the Milky Way core was drifting and setting into the light pollution coming from Youghal on the east coast of County Cork, I was still happy with the overall lighting and feel of the image.

When you can't avoid light pollution, you simply have to work with it and incorporate it as best as you can.

These guys ran across the dunes and I had a Canon 800mm on swivel mount, lucky I was able to get them in focus.

Stopping here in the Columbia River Basin to rest and recharge before continuing their migration to Alaska and Siberia.

We parked and waited! Not exactly what we were hoping for but as Mother Nature creates, always beautiful and often unexpected! This area was beautiful for both sunrises and sunsets.

Fly-fishing in macro. I used Tamron SP 90 mm F/2.8 Di Macro, which was a early Christmas present to myself and a set of fishing lures that I got off Amazon to create these cool images. I love the color and shine of them.

Able to meet up with friends after the park closed to get images I normally never get to capture! The meeting was unplanned and a thrill to meet with so many talents I get to share with on IG.

As you may know, I really love Hot Wheels. They're not just toys for me, they're diecast works of art.

As we entered the Grand Teton National Park we were blown away. The lighting was short lived. I’m calling it lucky. Right place, right time!

This was taken during our first evening at Yellowstone. My wife and I took a hike through the Upper Geyser Basin. This particular image was captured at around 10:30 PM. It was an incredible evening, one that we’ve planned and looked forward to for nearly two years.
