February 2020, Photo Tour to Kuusamo, Finland - image 5:

A curious Siberian Jay (Perisoreus infaustus) coming down to check out the new Zeiss Milvus 2.8/15... or maybe just interested to see if I had some food with me...

The Zeiss lens wasn't that easy to operate as I hoped mainly due to the manual focus, though for sure, given the poor light conditions, I could not have taken a better picture with my Canon equivalents. So, yes, I know that the bird, isn't pin sharp, but who cares... the crown of the tree certainly is.

I glimpsed outside out of my window without my glasses my blurry vision informed me that there seemed to be a huge bird over the bird house in the tree. What could it be? When looking through camera lens I was surprised that it was my parent's cat climbed 3 meters to the tree! Supposedly bird had teased her there. That bird house is not safe haven for small birds anymore!

It's a beautiful spring evening in the rural New England village of East Corinth, Vermont.

As I get better at editing my photos, I like to go back to some of the older images, that I think I can finally do some justice to and rework them.

Was able to photograph a couple beautiful models at the Neon Museum, downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.

This old farmhouse is located on Macks Mountain in the rural town of Peacham, Vermont. A couple walking by told me that no one lived there, but someone came by regularly to maintain the property and buildings.

It's early winter in the rural town of Peacham, Vermont, population 715 as of the last census. The area shown in the photograph is nearby the center of town, which also includes the Peacham General Store, the Peacham Cafe, a library, and a post office.

The distant snow-covered mountains to the right of the steeple are Mount Lafayette, Little Haystack, and Mount Lincoln, part of the Franconia Range of the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Thanks for your visit.

There was not much going on when I arrived in downtown Granby, Vermont on a Saturday afternoon. The three buildings shown are a church, a post office, and the town clerk's office. There also is a one room schoolhouse just down the road. You won't find any restaurants, bars, gas stations, or stores of any kind in the town.

The town was chartered in 1761, and now has a population of 83. Granby was the last of two towns in the state of Vermont to be hooked up to the electric grid.

Thanks for your visit.

Interesting architecture.

February 2021, Photo Tour to Kuusamo, Finland - image 7:

Spent a lot of time during this year's trip at the Kitka river (Kitkajoki) to photograph White-throated Dippers (Cinclus cinclus) . The circumstances were perfect; many Dippers, fresh snow, and thick ice. The only downside were the cold temperatures, up to -29 degrees Celcius, causing a haze above the water. The result was a fair amount of hazy pictures, but thank God also enough photos without that annoying haze. This is one of them, and a few more will follow.

Focused mainly on shots with a longer exposure and used only a 70-200mm lens for that, just to get enough of that silky water in each shot.

This remains one of my favorite places to photograph birds in their natural environment. What a wonderful place this is.

I found this beautiful little church while exploring some of the back roads of northern Vermont. The trip in was on dirt roads, and I later found out that all the roads in this town are unpaved.

The church is facing in a good direction for a Milky Way photo, so I'm sure I'll be back.

Thanks for your visit.

This image was a result of a steep descent which landed atop the Upper Yellowstone Falls. The hike was an approximate 6-8 tenths of a mile with a change in elevation of 600 ft. When I finished photographing the Canyon, it was all up hill😳 The mist you see in the foreground, is from the Falls.
