My concept for this bottle of hope was based upon the desire to give a bottle that illustrates being filled with love and hope, not empty. But how to decorate the outside of the bottle to allow for the hope inside to show through? This problem was solved by covering part of the bottle with translucent liquid polymer with inclusions of embossing powder, to create a translucent but colored layer. Part of the bottle was left naked to create a window to see the inside clearly. The heart on the top of the lid is embossed on both sides with the word hope and is attached securely to the lid with a screw. And the "hope" that is inside consists of many tiny polymer hearts of gold, one sapphire blue and one burgundy heart (to match the colors on the exterior). It was my original intention that the owner could make a wish on each heart, or share the tiny hearts with anyone she wants to give a little love. The bottle is tiny, measuring in at 3" tall and about 1" wide, the hearts inside the bottle are about 1/4" wide at the widest point and 1/4" long. ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
My wife has breast cancer
She found a lump on her own at the end of May, just after her 32nd birthday. On June 10 the biopsy result came back positive.
The past 5.5 weeks have been a total blur filled with doctor appointments, tests, insurance issues, etc... all leading up to the surgery she had this past Friday. But most importantly, it's been filled with support and love from family and friends. Getting through all of this without them would be impossible.
Don't think for a minute that breast cancer has something to do with age. Breast cancer does not believe in age discrimination. Ladies, please do your self checks. Men, tell the ladies in your life to do their self checks.
Why? You can catch it early, like Melanie did. The doctor who did her yearly exam in March missed it... if Melanie didn't bother doing her self checks, she very likely wouldn't have known until next years doctor exam.
Check Yourself!
Melanie is going to be journaling her experience on her web site: www.melaniebernhart.com
A friend of ours made this graphic just for her, after he found out about her cancer.

She gives out handfuls of candy and sweets to the Miles for MacMillan walkers as they pass by her and her husband on their way to the 8 mile long course in the wet windy conditions. This small kindness from a stranger gives comfort and a little sugar boost to help lift their spirits and keep them going as they make the journey that, for some, is not measured in miles but in tears... and thoughts of loved ones battling Cancer.

A friend of the family's niece has been diagnosed with Leukemia. My mom asked me to design a support bracelet for her mom. It took me a long time to find non-Swarovski beads in orange that I liked. I found something else I could have used, but I am glad I waited just a litle while longer because these beads, although just faceted glass are very pretty and seem to glow on their own with very little help from me and cs3. :) I did use some Swarovski fire opals I had left over from another project as enhancements. They added just the right touch.
Our handmade Breast Cancer awareness bracelet is strung on tiger tail, with the focus of this bracelet on a large beautiful heart lobster clasp with small pearl and quartz beads dangling. It is surrounded with Pink and White Glass Pearls with a Hope charm bead in centre and finished with a few sparkle Quartz Crystals and spacers. The bracelet will fit a wrist size between 6.5 to 8 inches.
A truely beautiful and a feel good bracelet.
