CAF 116757 - Canadair (Northrop) CF-5A Freedom Fighter - Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

c/n 1057 - built in 1970 -
stored at CFB Trenton May 1989. Preserved (on display) at RCAF Memorial Museum at CFB Trenton, Ontario April 1995. On display at the Canadian Warplanes Heritage Museum in Hamilton by June 2000, on loan from RCAF Museum.
The Northrop F-5 was built under license in Canada by Canadair Ltd. and is known as the CF-5. A total of 240 CF-5s were produced for the RCAF (135) and the Royal Netherlands Air Force (105).

In June 1940, Colonel Frank Worthington informed the Canadian National Defence Headquarters of a number of surplus M1917 6-ton tanks in the United States. The U.S. agreed to sell 250 of the tanks. Colonel Worthington ordered 236 M1917 tanks on 21st September 1940, in order to increase the amount of tracked vehicles available to train Canadian Army tank crews.

The aircraft was acquired by the Jet Aircraft Museum and was moved recently from former CFB Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. The aircraft was on display there since February 2004. Made last flight by an F-101, April 1987.
The RCAF Snowbirds perform a loop in the big diamond formation over Semiahmoo Bay in White Rock, British Columbia, on August 12, 2026. This was one of the final performance stops in their farewell tour for their Canadair Tutor jets.

c/n 8 - built in 1958 - 10717 was assigned to the 2 Maritime Operational Training Unit in Greenwood on 17.06. 1958 and was struck off strength on 05.03.1980 to be a permanent monument at Greenwood.
The CP-107 was powered by 4 Wright Cyclone R-3350 18 cylinder radial engines, each 3400 hp
The CP-107 was a development from the Bristol Britannia and the Canadair CL-44 for maritime patrol duties. The Argus replaced the last of the Avro Lancasters as well as the Lockheed Neptunes that had been bought as an interim measure pending the arrival of the Argus in the maritime reconnaissance or patrol role.

HMCS Vancouver is a Halifax-class frigate that has served in the Canadian Forces and Royal Canadian Navy since 1993. HMCS Vancouver is a Halifax-class frigate, of the Royal Canadian Navy launched on 8 July 1989, as the second vessel of her class. She is based at CFB Esquimalt on the west coast of Canada, and is the third vessel to be named after Vancouver, British Columbia.. She is assigned to Maritime Forces Pacific (MARPAC) and is homeported at CFB Esquimalt., HMCS Vancouver has a crew of about 255 personnel, including including air detachment.

Determined to end four years of often-brutal German occupation, on 6 June 1944, Allied forces invaded Western Europe along an 80-kilometre front in Normandy, France. Of the nearly 150,000 Allied troops who landed or parachuted into the invasion area, 14,000 were Canadians. They assaulted a beachfront code-named “Juno”, while Canadian paratroopers landed just east of the assault beaches. Although the Allies encountered German defences bristling with artillery, machine guns, mines, and booby-traps, the invasion was a success.
Other Canadians helped achieve this victory. The Royal Canadian Navy contributed 110 ships and 10,000 sailors in support of the landings while the R.C.A.F. had helped prepare the invasion by bombing targets inland. On D- Day and during the ensuing campaign, 15 R.C.A.F. fighter and fighter-bomber squadrons helped control the skies over Normandy and attacked enemy targets. On D-Day, Canadians suffered 1074 casualties, including 359 killed.
