Fredericton Nouveau Brunswick/New Brunswick, Canada, Juillet/July 2013.

In Flanders' Fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders fields.

Looks like this rider picked an old soldier to “watch their six” while out biking.

The bear is decked out as per the Canadian Expeditionary Force from the First World War. Right down to his paw tattoos - “VIMY” and “1917. “

I’ve never seen a bear riding air sentry before. 🐻

If anyone thinks that Teddy Bears and soldiering make an odd mix - they should look up the story behind Winnie the Pooh and his very real connection to the Canadian Army.
