This series of shots depicts the single most incredible sunset I have ever witnessed. Taken in San Juan Capistrano, Ca in February 2011. They are all 100% unretouched other than cropping.

I knew I had a lot of cameras but didn't realise just how many until I started to do this
I can't not buy a camera if I see it (and it's cheap) - it's ridiculous

Snooted SB-800 at 1/32 camera right, rimlight is a tungsten flashlight (ghetto will have to do for now =)

This is a homemade 8x10, made mostly with foamcore and rubber bands. The lens is an Industar 37 Russian large format 300mm designed for their FKD cameras. The shutter is a Sinar, takes standard 8x10 film holders.
