Calystegia sepium (L.) R.Br.
- Order: Solonales
- Family: Convolvulaceae
Hedge Bindweed, Wild Morning Glory
This shot is noteworthy in two respects. First, the lighting was just perfect for showing off the white flower in the sunlight against a dark shadow. Second, it was nearly noon and the flower is in excellent condition. Usually by noon, they are beat up with insect tracks and are starting to wilt.

Clouds and rain kept my camera inactive today, so here's a few from the other day! These flowers were growing wild, spread over a wide area. Colorado has some great color coming out of its soil!

There were so many beautiful things to photograph at Pleasant Valley. I think that next year I may invest time in trying to record as many of the flowering plants there as I can. This year I'm focusing on Volo Bog, so next year perhaps Pleasant Valley. I would do Moraine Hills, but their omnipresent signs to stay on the trail and out of the field are intensely annoying. There isn't much I can do for them if I'm going to get busted by Ranger Rick for trying to help out the park by photographing its wildlife, so Moraine Hills is going to have to take a back seat to some of the other parks.
