QD5: Ripples on the surface of Muckross Lake, Killarney National Park, Kerry.
This is a drone shot out in the lake taken a few feet above the water. Just to show the versatility of these machines, they're not all high level sweeping panoramas. As always stay safe and well.
What appears tranquil and calm really isn't. Between the noise from traffic on US 2, the water rushing through the dam, and the noise from the various paper mill machinery from Verso, the calm is only visible on the smooth water. Preparing to stop and work Verso, CN A451 crosses over the Escanaba River that is unusually calm and casts a near perfect reflection.
It has been so calm recently on the Moray Firth. So calm in fact that I chose not to take a long exposure as it just wasn't needed at all. The water was so clear that the detail in the submerged rocks and stones was still so visible. Also, as it was overcast, the dark skies were helping to cast a wonderful green colour in the water close to the shore. I actually can't remember when I last took an image of water that wasn't a long exposure. I personally really like the result. Bow Fiddle Rock is just off the coastline of Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.
Captured last week along Little Armier - limits of Mellieha (Malta) - late late afternoon.
Thank you for your time to view.
Larger version should be better.
Wishing you all a splendid day !
Ullswater Calm
A beautiful morning on Ullswater with a nice layer of mist with some really lovely colours and a very calm lake. This is just a wee bit along from the Duke of Portland Boathouse, which when I went past had a line of photographers all taking their shots of the boathouse...couldn't really blame them, a stunning morning.

Portrait photograph of a mallard duck taking a break or preparing to go to sleep as dusk fell and the sun set behind the horizon.
Fotografía de retrato, de un ánade real, que se estaba tomando un descanso, o preparándose para ir a dormir, mientras ya estaba atardeciendo y el sol se iba poniendo tras el horizonte.
The sea was very calm at Hayling, so I played around with the spectre app on my iPhone, this is a 5s exposure of the sea, groins along with the setting sun.
Emotion Series - Piece One.
Sometimes, it is hard to describe your inner chaos with words, pictures, colors, or sounds alone. It's not sadness, it's not happiness, not like you're not interested, it's not focusing - without the focus. It is everything and nothing at the same time. Crashing onto you in waves.
