A bridge over a nice little pond. You can see this and others on my website at www.les-greenwood.pixels.com
It's been some time since I last uploaded a photo to Flickr, I wanted to upload much more frequently but when course work is there it doesn't disappear quite as quick as I would like.
A couple of weeks ago I was walking back from another day at college when I felt a burning need to capture this moment it was so peaceful and still these moments are a unique occurrence but when they happen its nice to capture it.

This was the end of a 4km walk + hike at the Waimangu Volcanic Valley. The lake in the picture is the Rotomahana lake. It was very quiet and peaceful with no one else around in this vast expanse of greenery. I think part of the reason is the intense hike and long walk involved to get from one part of the valley to the other.

A lovely calm start to the day.....not long after I took this shot, an elderly gentleman came wading past me with his trousers rolled up over his knees......we're all still big kids at heart :)

The falls are beautiful, majestic and full of awe, but as beautiful as the falls are, I appreciate in a different way the calm and beauty of the streams before the falls . After we had hiked to the top of the highest of the 5 falls we saw yesterday, I enjoyed the calm and peace of the stream above where the falls began...and it was just after this shot that I had my own fall...literally. Feeling better today, with an appointment scheduled with an orthopedist on Friday.
Somehow, after a rather rough night with a migraine and time at the ER, I find this photo comforting. Strange, I know.

I'm still at my parents place trying to relax from all the food of these last days, lol.
Tomorrow I will drive back home to Berlin.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time and also had time to find some time to relax and calm down.
Hugs and kisses to you all my lovely Flickr friends! :)

George to Wall Street: Calm down, we don't need another melt down!
The building behind the first POTUS is called the Federal Hall National Memorial. It was built in 1842 as the United States Custom House, on the site of the old Federal Hall on Wall Street, and later served as a sub-Treasury building. It is now operated by the National Park Service as a national memorial commemorating the historic events that occurred there.
Congress convened for a special session at Federal Hall National Memorial on September 6, 2002. On September 6, 2002, approximately 300 members of the United States Congress traveled from Washington, D.C. to New York to convene in Federal Hall National Memorial as a symbolic show of support for the city, still recovering from the September 11, 2001 attacks. Held just four blocks from the World Trade Center site, the meeting was the first by Congress in New York since 1790.

Established in 1872, Lahore Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the world. Today it houses about 1381 animals of 136 species including six lionesses and two lions. The lion house is probably the oldest structure retained in the zoo and is the most attractive building of olden type comprising seven dens at the back.
this was Saturday evening and the calm before the hectic Sunday.
I did spot of shopping Saturday morning dressed as a guy! yeah I know I cant understand why I do it but lots of girls do its totally normal. Any way I learnt a couple of lessons ref being recognised as our fem self. I know this si sound odd but stay with me.
While walking around town I made eye contact with a woman I worked with for two years and who I see at least once a week.( she knows who he is ) I waved but she blanked me! odd thought so I walked over to and when she turned to her daughter I tapped on the shoulder. she looked stopped for a split second then the penny dropped she recognised me/him. Looks like she wasn't expecting to see me so didn't notice me even when our eyes met. from that I took it that if she saw me (Helen) she wouldn't have a clue.
After getting fed with the town I headed to another one closer to home.
This time I saw a woman who goes dancing with me, we have danced together, sat down and chatted and we know each other well or at least she knows Helen. I walked past her in one shop and she didn't give me a second glance. this was turning into a fun game. she then went to a supermarket also my next stop so I arranged it that I would be in the same place she was half a dozen times. at one point we both stood next to each other looking at the frozen chips. Not once did she cotton on to who I was.
Once again this proved to me that when we are seen out of context to our normal surrounding we wont get recognised unless we have an identifying mark that makes us stand out.
I never let on to daisy that I was standing next to her just in case I see her again and fancy a laugh.
