An oriental pied hornbill (anthracoceros albirostris) calling for its mate from the top of a tree. Photographed on Hat Yao Noi, Phang Nga, Thailand.
It has nothing to do with "The Clash" music....
but if you're in London, from the 30 of November until January the 25th, go and visit these 3 works of mine at 150 Columbia Road - Start Space Gallery
"won't you give me a smile...?" ;)
Oh, and I want to thank everyone that visits my stream for your support, since otherwise, I wouldn't have made these :)*************************************************
Lovely robin belting out the songs of spring, the blossom was on the trees, so too was this handsome bird.

I was watching and photographing several Oriental pied hornbills (anthracoceros albirostris) when I heard a persistent crow-like call somewhere behind me. This bird was the "culprit", perched alone on a dead tree. Photographed on the island of Pangkor, in Malaysia.
None of my photos are HDR or blended images, they are taken from just one shot

Grand Canyon during sunset
I feel that the wild west is calling me back.
If I am with you, can I still call you wild?
"It was nine twenty-nine
Nine twenty-nine, back street, big city
The sun was going down
There was music all around, it felt so right
It was one of those nights
One of those nights when you feel the world stop turning
You were standing there
There was music in the air
I should have been away
But I knew I had to stay"

My first Blue Hour in London and my first time standing on the Tower Bridge - the sky was breathtakingly dramatic and we just loved to stroll around (although it was very chilly this evening) ...
We would have been in London again this week - but then Corona happened ... I will be back sometime :)
Take care !

Meine erste Blaue Stunde in London:
Blick von der Tower Bridge auf den "Splitter" (The Shard) und das Rathaus ("City Hall")
Der Himmel war an diesem Abend atemberaubend dramatisch ... und wir haben unseren Spaziergang ausgedehnt, auch wenn es sehr sehr frisch war :)
Wir wären diese Woche eigentlich in London gewesen - dann kam Corona ... bis zum nächsten Mal, London !
Passt auf euch auf !
I met this little guy on a remote planet named Arizona. Communication with the rocky lifeform was not easy, but if I understood him correctly, he was visiting from somewhere north of the Sadr the region.
He was very calm until that huge black cloud creeped in and slowly started eating up the Milky Way. I tried to calm him down by telling the story about the intelligent Black Cloud from Fred Hoyle's equally named science-fiction novel. That did not seem to help, though, and the little guy decided to call home for help. His pose kind of reminded me of E.T., although I was missing the glowing finger...

I just returned from a week in Churchill, Manitoba. With the high water levels this year the returns of shorebirds seems to be way down, but there were certainly no shortage of other birds.
I photographed this Pacific Loon in one of the "pothole" ponds in the tundra just before sunset on our second day in town.

John Muir, born in 1838, was one of America’s most famous and influential “Outdoor Enthusiasts,” which in his era, were called Naturalists. He remains one of California’s most important historical personalities and is generally still known today as one of the Father’s of our National Parks. He once described himself as, a “poetico-trampo-geologist-botanist and ornithologist-naturalist etc. etc.!!!!”
