A Stonechat sitting on the gorse constantly calling, a call that sounds like two stones being knocked together, hence its name.
Most have got their first brood fledgelings now and this one was keeping watch over his young as they flitted from bush to bush.

I search for silence deep within,
to stop the voices that begin.
The whispers from the past, echoes in my soul,
never dies, never lies, and I cry.
We're standing in an empty room,
with broken dreams that I resume.
Where is strength to leave behind,
tell me where is peace of mind?
Cuz I'm calling, calling, calling to the core.
Help me, see me, find me.
Calling, calling, how do I adore?
Help me, show me, free me.
Lyrics from this beautiful song.

A Stonechat is so called due to its distinctive call which sounds like to small stones or pebbles being knocked together.
Taken on Exmoor
This red-winged blackbird was calling in the wetlands, and perched where there were few obstructions. Makes for a great shot!
This is my old phone that I came across a couple of years ago. I love flea markets. This baby sure is a heavy piece of equipment.
That Grand kids find it interesting.

Floral pigments have a large role to play in pollination of flowers by animals. This flower's radiating lines led directly to the pollen filled center of the blossom.
Sadly a declining bird in much of the U.K ,this iconic bird with its amazing evocative call,is thankfully still quite plentiful on its breeding grounds of the northern moors.
Taken on a recent trip to the Yorkshire Dales.

The wave whisper to me, calling me to the soft sand. The water sweeps over my feet surrounds where I stand. I am a rock.
