A Calla Lilly mono'd. This seemed a more traditional treatment for these graceful flowers. The colours are beautiful, but the curves deserve attention as well.

Zantedeschia, usually erroneously called Calla or Arum lilies (only when white), they are not a true lily.
I positioned these four beauties, the stage was set, the lights were on, camera/action/ ready for their close-up...
Thank you all again, for your support and comments, and also for all the beauty, Magda, (*_*)

Just a little something for the weekend...we're going away for the weekend...to the snow...not a big fan. Not looking forward to being cold and wet. But I couldn't miss my kids' first time there...hopefully I'll come back with some to share!
Calla lilies (Zantedeschia), are a subtropical perennial, originating from South Africa. They grow from Rhizomes and are popular as garden flowers. They have gorgeous chalice-shaped flowers and arrow-shaped spotted leaves that can sometimes be speckled. Great when planted into garden borders or into container.
Zantedeschia, usually erroneously called Calla or Arum lilies (only when big and white), they are not a true lily.
It is named after Italian botanist Francesco Zantedeschi.
The Zantedeschia species are very poisonous, capable of killing livestock and children.
All parts of the plant are toxic, and produce irritation and swelling of the mouth and throat, acute vomiting and diarrhea.
All species are endemic to southern Africa.
Thank you very much for your time, visit, comments and awards..., M, (*_*)
