This is a 9 x 12 oil on panel in it's frame. Some of the painting is painted to look like part of the frame, so the hot pepper appears to be popping out of the painting.

It started to rain at Machu Picchu around noon. We decided to head down to Agua Calientes first and join the group for lunch.

A string of helpers return west on horseshoe curve at Caliente, CA. The curve is on the Union Pacific's Mojave sub-division, part of the old Southern Pacific Los Angeles-San Francisco Valley Route, which was built between 1875 and 1876 (www.rgusrail.com/cacaliente.html).
