First day back to school after winter break...yay AP Calculus -.-

Mathematicians at work.

The end of the semester is almost here along with Christmas and that means finals. How stressful!

Wish me luck as I try to finish out with a A in this class.

This elegant installation pays homage to the work that insects do in nature; it is strung with white ceramic pods that may serve as habitat. The sisal strings, if left to nature would eventually provide forage and nesting material.

Calculus takes up a lot of free time.

This one is kind of interesting. I took the integral graphically instead of using the formula for polynomials. It works the same.

What is calculus used for If we talk about mathematics, it is used to find slope, area, tangents, average of some function, intercepts forms, in vector calculus and the rate of change of the graphs. In the term of science, it is widely used in the field of physics and biology. Calculus is used broadly in computer science, economics, businesses data’s and medicinal area. The development area like architecture, aviations and many other technologies are using the concepts of the calculus. Now, talking about the use in the real life we have a number f field for this.

I consider myself to be lucky to have been asked to read AP Calculus exams for the last seven years, participating six of those years. The professional development of reading authentic student work is better than anything I have ever experienced. Here is hoping for another invitation next year (and no emergency days so that Aragorn's graduation doesn't prevent me from going).

PROFESSOR CALCULUS: AN ENEMY SPY, A RUTHLESS KILLER? Impossible, this poor man looks so harmless! He is the most inoffensive of all creatures! However, the fact that he doesn't seem the type doesn't prove anything, then in this world where nothing is as seem, the most surprising things happen routinely. Let's brace ourselves for the worst!
