Fred Kalley built the 450 seat Park Theatre during the beginning of the Second World War and opened on the 17th July 1940. It was located in East White Rock, across the Campbell River Road from Semiahmoo Park, near the intersection of Keil Street and Campbell River Road. The manager was Guy Graham - he sold the the theatre to Mrs. Ethel Stone in 1947. In 1951 the Park Theatre was sold to Jim Petrovich. "Margie" - is a 1946 American romantic comedy film directed by Henry King and starring Jeanne Crain, about a high school girl in the 1920s who develops a crush on her French teacher. Margie was a box-office hit, ranking in the top 15 highest-grossing films of the year, and established Crain as an important Fox star. Although not a true movie musical (as it uses period recordings, with only one song being partially performed by a character in the film), it is sometimes classified with musicals due to the large number of 1920s-era popular songs incorporated as nostalgic background in the film. The film was the basis for the 1961 television sitcom Margie, featuring Cynthia Pepper. Link to the complete movie - www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP5uej-LsE0

"No Leave, No Love" is a 1946 American musical film directed by Charles Martin and starring Van Johnson, Keenan Wynn and Pat Kirkwood. The story concerns Mike, a Marine and recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, who returns with his pal Slinky from fighting in the Pacific during World War II. Mike expects to marry his hometown sweetheart; his mother wants to tell him in person that she has married someone else. Most of the film involves the efforts of Susan, a popular radio personality, to keep him from finding out or going home until his mother makes it to New York from Indiana. Susan and Mike fall in love; misunderstandings ensue. The shenanigans of the implausibly unpleasant and larcenous Slinky fill out the action, and the musical element is provided by several appearances of then-famous performers in nightclubs and on Susan’s radio show. The story is bookended by Mike’s arrival in the waiting room of a maternity ward and the birth of his and Susan’s son. Slinky gets the last word when Rosalind announces that she is pregnant. The 2nd century AD church at Al-Qusair, in the desert east of Karbala, is the oldest church in Iraq. A signpost on the highway calls it "Caesar's Church".

Today was up and down to start, and then later it flattened out.

I don't know what's harder, hitting a Jackpot or taking this photo without someone getting in the shot. Sometimes the photo is the Jackpot. Thanks Caesars for making the Las Vegas Strip so beautiful at night.

Vittorio Bianchi (1865-?) was an actor and screenwriter of the Italian silent screen.

Vittorio Bianchi was born on December 23, 1865 in Avezzano, Abruzzo, Italy. In 1916 he started his career at the Neapolitan company Polifilms, opposite Mary Corwyn in the film Freccia d'oro by Giulio Antamoro. But immediately after, he became one of the regular supporting actors at the Roman company Caesar Film, first in Ferréol (Edoardo Bencivenga, 1916). he then acted in a range of dramas with diva Francesca Bertini at Caesar Film: Fedora (Giuseppe de Liguoro, Gustavo Serena, 1916), Andreina (Serena, 1917), Tosca (Alfredo De Antoni, 1918), La lussuria (Bencivenga, 1919), La contessa Sara (Roberto Roberti, 1919), and La serpe (Roberti, 1920). For La lussuria and La serpe he was also screenwriter. At Caesar he also acted in other films such as Le due orfanelle (Bencivenga, 1918), Maman Colibri (De Antoni, 1918) with Tilde Teldi, Dora o Le spie ((Roberti, 1919) with Vera Vergani, La morte civile (Bencivenga, 1919), Il cuore sotto il maggio (Camillo De Riso, 1920), Fino alla tenebra (Bencivenga, 1920), etc. Often the films were society dramas based on French plays by Victorien Sardou and others. His last films at Caesar Bianchi did in 1921.

According to Aldo Bernardini, Bianchi replaced Giuseppe Paolo Pacchierotti as regular screenwriter at Caesar and thus was responsible for the scripts of the Bertini vehicles Lisa Fleuron, Marion artista da caffè-concerto, La principessa Giorgio and Maddalena Ferat. From 1919 he also wrote a few scripts for Filmgraf (films directed by Gustavo Serena), in 1921-22 for Libertas, and in 1923 for Flegrea in Rome. Apart from a small part in Maciste nella gabbia dei leoni (Guido Brignone, 1926), Bianchi's career in silent cinema was over. Between 1931 and 1943 Bianchi had six parts in Italian sound films, mostly in films of directors who had started their careers in silent cinema such as Brignone, Carmine Gallone, Amleto Palermi and Enrico Guazzoni.

The expressive head of an old man is inserted on a Trajan bust with armor and paludamentum knotted on the right shoulder. The portrait belongs to the type that is usually called Caesar. Both the shape of the bust, both the age of the portrayed man make uncertain its identification as Gaius Julius Caesar. The forehead high and furrowed, the veins at the temples, the thin mouth characterize this portrait with strong realism. The quality of the work is not bad
