When the Cable Cars are not running, they are stored and worked on here. The Cable Car Museum is in the same building as the work shops/storage area.

Built by the W. L. Holman Co. in 1906, for the O’Farrell, Jones and Hyde Streets Line; rebuilt in 2005. Today, this is known as "Mayor's Car" and used only for special occasions.
I've been rattling my bones riding my bike over the cable car tracks near Slottsparken for for years now and this was the first time I'd actually ever seen a cable car running on them.

Interesting display of the four cable routes, Powell has its own cable, as do the Mason and Hyde branches. The simple California line has a complex cable with hidden sections to the winding house and a depot access route included.
At Penang Hill, there are two cable cars on one cable, so one car goes up as the other car goes down. The cars were manufactured in Switzerland.

Went back up the bridge on Saturday for another go. This is the north tower again, this time from the eastern walkway. Hmm… still need to get closer to that concrete.
