North Curl Curl ocean pool is located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and is a sought after location for both photographers and rock fishermen.
I think this is some type of succulent plant. Taken at Centennial Park Conservatory, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
This delicate Maple tree is still hanging onto its dry and curled leaves as winter progresses. At the lovely Forest Glade Gardens with the FFF friends on a beautiful winter's day.
What drew me to take this image was the dark long haired curl at the top of the top of the sunflower. I shot this is the most harshest of light around noon today in about 95 degree heat. I ended up darkening the surroundings completely to void it of all the daylight bluebird skies.
Another leaf from the other day, again no focus stacking. Not much detail in this one except for the area closest to the camera. If you look in full view the detail is pretty good, and you may see why so many people suffer from allergies at this time of year, myself included, but only to a small degree. I am guessing that the little white stringy things are a type of mould.
But for me this one was more about how the light gave dimension to the leaf. I was initially drawn to the leaf by the curve that was created by the curl. I find curves very interesting within a composition.

I certainly am enjoying wandering with the macro lens. Your eyes open up more to what is around your feet rather than scanning the landscape for compositions,

After the coolest April temperatures in years, Spring is now here to stay!
Flowering cherry seen in Vienna's "Hirschstetten Flower Garden", where our City Gardeners receive part of their training, and where flower combinations for the city's flower-beds are tried out in practice.
Captured with an Auto-Takumar 35mm f:2.3, a fast wide-angle lens known amongst insiders for its great bokeh potential. Here, though the image has been cropped to a square format, the bokeh still has its attractive swirl.

As i sat on the hill, talking the day away with my brother (butterflies were around but quickly flapping in the opposite direction) I noticed this green thing on a seed head. Turned out to be a caterpillar. Two stacked shot.
Here is a late Macro Monday, from Cylburn Arboretum. I love the natural and gorgeous curls of these blossoms! Baltimore, MD
BAL 2013
This is the color version of one of the black and white Dandy Curls series from last month.
Same iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens kit as usual and edited on the iPad first in Snapseed for square crop.
Then into Oggl for the color version using the Americana Lens and Blanko Freedom13 Film.
Once I get into Oggl it seems I can stay there for hours developing lots of versions of each photo. My poor old iPad is groaning under the weight of all my versions.
